@stilldew Susan asked what are my must haves, I feel like each year someone asks this great question!
Here are some I own that I think everyone should have! (list not pics but feel free to add pics and suggestions!)
'Fame' (whether it is in its monstrose phases or not it is a great semp - good size pretty coloration that changes a lot through the year)
'Max Frei' - again one that changes color often! Stays within red/orange/yellowish
'Grammens' - purple and dark in winter
'whirligig' - gets a pretty pink in autumn
'Fredegar' - this is a small arachnoideum and it is so prolific for me - fills the space within just a couple months!
'Hidde' another medium to large sized one with interesting coloration
'Pacific Sparkler'
'Sopa'
Please add your favs to this list!! Hurray!

I don't have to think too hard on this because they are on post-its around my monitor screen. Hilarious!

Gwen's Rose
Pacific Spring Frost
Proud Zelda
Polly Bishop

Kevin's newest semps...

Not a semp but on a post-it...Sedum dendroideum

I'm sure there were more at one time but you know how those post-its are, here one day gone tomorrow. They seem to flit away when I am not looking and into the pile of "post-its past" on my computer desk.

Out of the dark chocolate ones my favorite is still 'Pacific Devil's Food'. I was looking at the brown toned semps yesterday, they are all wonderful, but this one still is my favorite.
All photos were taken today:

Another standout in my beds right now is 'Pacific Hepsport'. It has the same form as 'Pacific Hep', but the color is totally different, as you can see by the below photo.

How could I not love this dark beauty? In the spring it is as black as a semp can be, a real standout.

This is my favorite arach type of semp in the summer. It is covered in very white webbing, and makes very dense colonies. It also seems to be sun/scorch resistant. A great quality to have in your arachnoideum semps.

We don't want to forget about the Jovibarba types.
Here is one that is showing why it was given the name of 'Blaze'.

I love 'Grunrand' year round. It has it's drawbacks, produces very few offsets, but well worth growing for it's beautiful form and coloration. You can see better photos show it's form. Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Grunrand')

I love this new one from Fernwood. Produces large crops of offsets, is a robust semp that doesn't seem to be bothered with any of the weather we get here in the Pacific Northwest. It also tends to start showing it's most intense colors in late summer and through fall.

Newer semp from Perennial Obsessions that has caught my interest. Seems to have year round color interest. This time of year seems to bring on intense color in a small to medium sized semp. This will fit into anyones collection.

I almost forgot about 'Persephone'. Sad to say the rosette and all offsets bloomed out. I removed the offset bloom stalks and will save seed from the rosette bloom. This is one very large and impressive semp. Even the bloom stalk is massive, as you can see in this photo. And the way the limbs of the bloom stalk grow is really different from all my other semps. Almost like a medusa

Here's a few that I just love because of the water markings.
Jet
Cold Fire
Marybeth
Streaker
Shawnee
Aqua

Of course my list could all change with a stroll through the semps in a different season.

I have the same problem Julia. From one day to the next my favorites can change, depending on what I am looking at.

I love the unusual color of Bernstein.

I get pleasure looking at the fuzzy/velvety texture of these semps:

Belladonna
Blush
Engle 13-2
Oley
Ohio Burgundy
Whitney

And don't you think the fuzzy Noid pictured in my avatar is most pleasing? Lovey dubby

Love the velvet ones too. Bev your avatar is beautiful. Do any of you find that the fuzzy ones rot easier than others?
