hey y'all I've been mia for a while bc i havnt had a garden to speak of. I've been slowly rebuilding /planing since we moved .. so my question is i have a carmel fairytale that i can't tell if it has rose mosaic virus. it looks mottled on the new leaves but as they green up the mottled look goes away. does anyone else grow this? does it do this for you. ill get some pix here in a minute.

Hi Dana,
Welcome back! How are you?
I've had a few roses get pale and mottled, and they cleared up once I fed them a bit. Hopefully someone else will pipe up once you post photos, because I don't think I've ever had mosaic virus here. My Caramella Fairy Tale rose got so huge I had to move it! Really really huge, like 8 feet wide and tall! Lovey dubby

Here are the leaves in different stages of greening up (what ever the word for that is ) not sure if it's a nutriant deficiency or rmv

I know it's about 4 1/2 feet and I this was the second season I'll die if I have to dig it up . Ive never had it either and got this plant from ru and theirs are impeccable. I havnt tried feeding it real good yet since I noticed it. I did a round of epsom and rose pellets bc I've been busy building beds.

Hi, Dana. It's so good to hear from you!

My Caramel Fairy Tale came from Palatine and it also has wonky leaves now and then. I haven't narrowed down the cause, but I'm not really concerned because it gets bigger and more beautiful each year.

Hi zuzu! Good Im glad to hear that it didn't look like rmv to me but I wanted to make sure I wasn't in denial. Here it is blooming today and the rest of what Im working with. My yard is about the same size as before but more room here. I can't stand a square yard but that was my compromise w dh. Now I gotta make it Un square.

Thanks , I'm becomming obsessed with evergreens the skinny ones that don't take up a lot of room. Im gonna add some. But roses all the way around . I've not had any iris for 2 yrs and can't take it any longer! it's gonna be fun to build but I'm never moving again! There is this terrible landscape rose in the front I can't wait to pull out. It's a low growing thicket w a boring hot pink flower. It's impossible to prune or weed around. I got a LOT of work to do lol.
