Caryopteris...don't know the cultivar, but sure do like the color. There were two of these planted out, mostly dead and I'm hoping the other one made it.....I've found something that was planted in wire and it's about where I would have planted it, so...hoping...

Very pretty! I tried it here years ago, but it died. The bees sure loved it!

You know, I tried it once in FB and it died there also......

This is from 'seed of - seed of' Purple Majesty Millet, so who knows what it will ultimately be like, but I'm sure whatever seed it produces that the birds will like it...

I wish I had learned to appreciate ornamental grasses before we had filled our yard with other things.

I LOVE the grasses....I could do the entire yard in just grasses.....I'm just so sorry that pennisetumm setaceum rubrum is not the star performer here that is was in FB. My 'signature' grass here is the nasella tenuissima / Mexican Feather Grass. I'm glad that I got mine before HD and Armstrong vowed not to sell it due to its invasiveness. I will gladly pull out unwanted seedlings just as with any other overzealous plant...lol..EVERYTHING looks wonderful surrounded by it.

The millet is an annual and I will keep planting it for the birds....

I like more non-subtle color than I would have with just grasses, but I could use the change in texture.

Funny you mention that...color...I was thinking of that this a.m...that I like the coloring of the subtle tan coloring to set off whatever it is next to and that it happens with the other grasses also...but then I like neutrals and tans and browns and Autumn / Winter landscapes. I use neutrals inside also and when we were selling the FB house one woman walked in and loudly stated that she didn't like 'tan'...lol..

Adromischus cristatus continues its tiny little blooms...some nasty aphids trying to feast on it, but seems to be able to withstand those nasty buggers.

Another amaryllis blooming out of season. It isn't quite open yet but I decided to take the picture now before the heat fries it. I also had a cactus bloom out of season but I missed the flower. It is a night blooming variety but the flower usually stays open until 9 or 10AM. Yesterday it was closed by 6:30 and I didn't see it. I think the hot morning did that.

If that amaryllis stayed in that form, I would collect bunnches and bunches of them....

No, it opens up wide like they all do. Though this one individual may not open wide if the heat cooks it first. They don't hold up very long when it is around 100F. Can't blame them.
