I don't buy hundreds of daylilies each year but I would enjoy being able to buy from ATP members. Apparently the only way to see what daylilies might be for sale is to peruse each member's list for sale plants. With over 350 lists and many with hundreds if not thousands of plants listed, and no search function, looking for a specific daylily or even a type of daylily is impractical to say the least.

Would it be possible to add a search function that could filter out the "have but not for sale" and the assorted hostas and such and then allow a search for "BARBARA MITCHELL" or "red spider?" Actually I know it could be done but is this something practical or is our software too simple or ridged or complex for
an improvement like this? Or is this just off mission?

I have several clumps that I will need to divide next year and a search for "Daylily ABCD wanted" would give me a chance to giveaway some fans of something I don't need, to someone who might really enjoy having them.

Just a crazy idea. Someone educate me please.

If you look up a specific plant in the ATP data base, it will tell you at the top if any members have or want that plant. If you click on that link, it will take you to a page with the members who have or wanting that plant listed. It will tell you there if the members who have that plant have it available for sale and or trade. Hope his helps. It would be nice to go to a members plant list and just see what is available for trade and or sale. If this function is already available, I have not yet figured it out.

Gale, that's great!

I have found in life that sometimes flaunting one's ignorance can lead to treasures. Thank You!

Is there ever an ISO for free or trade thread?? I figure that some people use the lists but not everyone. There may be something that someone is in search of that another member has but doesn't have listed....... and might be willing to trade.

ATP has two forums that can also be used when looking for plants. The Classifieds and Group Buys forum and the Plant and Seed Trading forums. You can place ISO daylily listings in either forum depending on if you want to purchase or trade. I do check both regularly(several times a day) and add new daylily listings from them to the Daylily Classified sticky here at the top in the Daylily Forum. If you are going to post in either of those threads you can also send me a tmail to be sure I don't miss adding your listing and updating the sticky.
A year or two ago we also did a spring trading thread in the Daylily forum where folks listed the daylilies they had to trade and what they were looking for. We could do that again next spring if there is enough interest in one.

Char- Count me as interested for the spring trading thread, and thank you for taking the time to add to the Daylily Classified sticky, I got some great Daylilies for great prices from them.

In for a dime, in for a dollar,

I have sold plants and traded plants here with ATPs members. I have a listing in the Classified now. I only listed the ones I have a lot of for sale. I have over 200 daylilies and might have a DF of others that are not in the sale. Sometimes if you send a Tmail directly to a person with the plant you are interested in you might be successful. Sorry for the confusion. I belong to a town email list and had seen ISO with an item mentioned after in the subject line on there many times. Took me a while to figure out what the ISO meant..... *Blush*

Sounds like something you could do with an "advanced search" feature, enter key word, select - have/for sale/want parameters, type - daylily, etc. That would be really useful... I don't think this is currently a feature on ATP, but I am tempted to summon @Dave to find out.

Rose people have a site similar to the ATP database called Help Me Find. HMF has been around for ages. It is an invaluable tool not only because you can look up a rose but because they also list the vendors that have that particular rose for sale.. The vendor list is, I assume, contingent on the sellers contributing their information. Not to sound trite, but if one hobby site can do it, I don't see why another can't............Maryl

I, too, would be interested .... BUT ..... I live in the deep south and rust is an issue in my garden .... so maybe I am not eligible to do a prolif trade? I wouldn't be offended if y'all say no to me. (I totally understand.)
