Just wanted to give everyone the heads up that Jon asked to help with the Daylily of the Day threads. He will be picking a cultivar to be featured (from the poll list) every other day. He will also be giving out an acorn for performance reviews on his threads.

I enjoy reading about the habits of various cultivars. The thread has helped me eliminate some from my list and add a few others.

I, too, have found it very useful thanks to everyone posting their performance reviews on the various Daylily of the Day cultivar threads!

Thanks to all who have taken the time to post to the threads! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

What happens to the ones moved to the Past Plants of the Day Forums? I don't see those here any longer. Do they go after a certain length of time? I just posted my review today when it was on the Past Plants Forum.

Rita - The threads go into the Daylilies of the Day Archive Forum after 7 days on the Daylily Forum. Members can continue to post to any of those threads at any time. You can still earn an acorn "once a year" for a performance evaluation post. Plants can perform differently each year depending on how many years it's been growing in your garden, the current growing conditions, and the climate of any given year. So those performance reviews can change from year to year. That is valuable information for others to know.

Also, if you go to the Plant Database to look up any of those cultivars that have been featured on the Daylily of the Day, you will see a small photo in the upper right with the link underneath it to it's Daylily of the Day thread. Anyone looking up a cultivar will be able to read further information written by members who own and grow the plant.

So when you want to know about a cultivar here on ATP, looking it up in the database can lead you to more information than what you would get probably anywhere else on the internet! Thumbs up

Absolutely!

But it will only work well if everyone continues to post their performance evaluations of any cultivars that they have that are featured! Smiling
