Plumerias
I recently came across someone who also grows tropical plants. Doesn't have any plumerias, but said that it's always best to put screens at the bottom of the pots to prevent soil coming out the drain holes as well as keeping critters from entering the drain holes.
He also said a paper towel works too, but it will eventually turn brown and mold.

Just curious if anyone else does this or something similar or has better insight on it?
Thank you

I have used wire mesh as well as plastic mesh in huge pots with huge drainage holes. I will sometimes use coffee filters in smaller pots that still have pretty large holes. The paper in the filters last longer.

I too, have used screening, and coffee filters. I find that it can keep soil from flowing out, and critters from crawling in. Been doing it for years, and consider it to be a pretty good practice. Thumbs up

If I remember, I will use used dryer sheets to keep soil from coming out.

I really like the "natural' brown coffee filters. They don't seem to break down as quickly as the other "processed"/bleached white ones do.

Never used the dryer sheets...

On another note... the dryer sheets are great for cleaning your cookie sheets. Lay a dryer sheet on the cookie sheet and put warm water on it... Soak overnight....
Wala!!!
