Might be a cooling thought today when it's supposed to be 92 with an air quality alert. Smiling

good point, it's 80 degrees and climbing here in Michigan. Very humid as well. Kind of makes me want to go out and buy a new snowblower!

I saw that snow was forecast for the PNW. Waxing those skis yet? :)
This is a day where I don't mind lowering the thermostat for the a/c. After all, I'm cleaning indoors today and still working up a sweat.

LOL, we need a water thrower here right now... Frank, did you get that big rainstorm yesterday? I don't know how much rain we actually got, but we also had 1-inch hail, and were pumping our crawl space out for over 12 hours today... Sticking tongue out

I most definitely am NOT ready for running the snow thrower, though!

Frank ...

Not to worry. They had Halloween decorations out in August ... a bit early ? Yeah.

They will have Christmas decorations out before Thanksgiving ... a bit early ? Yeah

Snowblowers in Septmeber ? a bit early ... Yeah

A bad omen ... Nah, just retail as usual ... Whistling

Our weather guy said there will be a very light snow dusting at Mt. Shasta late in the afternoon today... A gentle reminder from Mother Nature Smiling

Tarev ...

I live in the mountains on the other side of the valley from Mt. Shasta. We are supposed to be in the mid 90s next week. No snow predicted for the Alps, yet.

Well that is what the weather forecaster said earlier, it will be very brief dusting there at Mt. Shasta for this afternoon only..not a major snow event anyways..but it did get cooler than usual here in the valley, so it may be possible up there at Shasta.

I can deal with all of those time disconnects.... what always messes me up is that the fall clothes have always taken the place of summer things by the time I feel the need to shop for the summer! Rolling my eyes.

We have had them for sale for a few weeks , and have already sold quite a few. A few models have already sold out and waiting for their second shipment. Early forecast around here are for another tough Winter.

Yeah - retail is earlier and earlier every year. Walmart & Kmart started doing Christmas lay-away in August. WRT snowblowers, they have been on display at my Lowes since early August. I made note of it cause I have NEVER seen snow blowers out on my BD - August 2 - before. Guess they will wheel out the lawn mowers about Christmas. Rolling on the floor laughing

WRT horticulture, my local Walmart had spring blooming bulbs out in late JULY! Good grief - I had some daffodil greens still showing.

In late January, into February, our Walmart, Home Depot and Lowe's have aisles of dahlias, begonias, gladiolus, a few clematis, lilies, ferns and hostas available. BBQ grills and associated tools are also available. Lowe's has a smaller assortment of plants but they have lawn mowers as well as snow blowers at the same time.

I know what you mean, Arlene. I moved here from Indiana and it was the same way there. Of course, it was possible to get heavy snow storms that late in the winter, as I'm sure is the case in your area as well. But just seems early for some of the bulbs. Now, as for grills ... I have been know to grill in the winter ... not often, but I did do it a few times on really nice days. I really missed that in the winters up north. Here I'm fortunate to be able to use my grill year round .. and we do. That and the smoker both. Love it. Maybe I haven't been here long enough, but I don't miss the snow one bit. Even on the really hot days. I'll take those few miserably hot days over a long, cold winter in Indiana any time.

I could take winters with 2' of snow for three months but three days of the humidity in Florida always knocked me out! Winter is good for shopping, house cleaning, renovations, painting and then I leave a nice clean house to go to the garden and get myself as dirty and happy as can be.

We generally only get snow a few times during the winter months at my elevation, so, for me, it's not a big deal. I usually do the serious housework during the heat of the summer.

Unfortunately, this year, I wasn't playing at 100% for most of the summer and not much serious cleaning got done. Also, none of my garden projects got done this year.

The great news is that nothing died. I did manage to keep up with most of the garden maintenance. I count that as success !

Today we are having our first rain of the season, so I am going to tackle some of that housework because I am feeling much better and want to keep moving.

Smiles,
Lyn
