Amazing pics, Sheri! I know how you feel. I hate to see them leave also.

Just saw one when I was in backyard this morning - he was few feet away enjoying the red trumpet vine - and zipped above my head. I think there are two that's been here at the feeder. I don't get many so I don't want them to leave either.

Gardengus,
Feeling a bit down with hummers leaving, goldfinches beginning to change color, etc. fall is often lovely weather, but I do not care for winter so....yes, why do I live in WI?! Long story but Glare I'm staying.
Anyway, thanks for your statement as that will give me something to look forward to! That and daylily catalogs!

Have not seen one since last week. I leave the feeder up just in case and now have enjoyed watching honey bees fight for a sip. nodding I did see a Monarch yesterday.

But alas, in just a short time even the honey bees will be gone.

And so I eagerly await next spring.

I'm glad that the Monarchs are still lingering because so far this fall I haven't seen any! Even butterflies are few and far between nowadays. We really need some rain here so that there will be enough nectar plants blooming for the migrating species that need it. I have a hummer feeder up and some days I see a hummer or hummers, some days not.

Took down the feeder since I haven't seen them for a few days, but yesterday saw two zipping in my neighbors back yard where my morning glories were climbing onto their tree. 😊 The put a smile on my face.

I am still seeing hummers! This is the latest I've ever seen them here. Saw 2 today chasing each other around the pineapple sage. Didn't get a close enough look to see if they were juvies or females. My feeders are still up and one was drinking from one, too. It was 49 here this morning, but going up to 78.

I miss seeing the hummers! Surely there will be some later, however!
