Yes the Lord is not done working on me yet. This is my small one that I use to do the side yard. I have a couple acres and it takes me a long time to do the yard. I just got this one at the end of the season last year on sale so I would not have to use the big one to do the small level part of the property. I am glad it was not my big one.
Although it is not a bad time to be without a tractor because the grass is growing slow now. Oh well I have to give the insurance company a call and see if I can get some help from them. It is time for them to give me some of my money back.
Deb I think it is a big Old Oak tree. When I first brought the property I had 11 trees dropped and I said it looked like I should have dropped more. They are all just too big and old and should come down. I hate to do it because I love the park like look and I feel like I am in the woods. The problem with that is when a tree falls in the woods it is okay because nobody is around.
This is where it fell off......It looks like the limb just got heavy and fell. There is no rot or evidence of bugs.

Another example of why we should not drink and drive.
If you had brought your water bottle along on the mower....well, we are all happy that you didn't. Someone smiled down on you today.

I think this is a maple, alot of maples are softwood and are damaged easily in storms. Could have hung on for awhile before drying out enough to weaken and finish falling out. Maples tend to split where they fork and large limbs can separate off the main trunk splitting off.
Lucky, lucky!! I think it was probably previously damaged by wind or ice and just gave it up at that time. I had a huge pecan tree limb come down about 10' from me once. It was dead and it shattered. I had my back to it and the noise took a couple of my life, I think.
Whew! Close call Cinta...so glad you went to get your water right away instead of lingering.
We have lots of coconut trees with coconuts on them and the ripe coconuts usually drop sometime during the nights. I have a very tall one next to my plant nursery and I am mindful of not walking under the coconuts even during the day...I don't own a hard hat.
Thank you KD. I never linger everybody always ask me "What is the hurry?" I have to move fast because of a bad back and if I move slow it really hurts. It is strange I can walk a mile as long as I am moving fast but I cannot stand in one place for 2 min without having to sit down from the pain.
Donald I really feel lucky. I bet the look on my face would have been good for an ad for shock. I started looking around in disbelief. I did not hear anything but it was pretty far away from the house.
