oops, sorry *Blush*

To send information on the page:
Go to plant you want in the database.
Click on the photograph you want to send, I used this one of Kent's again.
Copy the URL information at the top of the page (here, in blue).
Thumb of 2015-09-21/lovemyhouse/67ed70
Paste the link into your message.

If you only want the photograph, it looks like the Save As function is disabled for even Creative Commons photographs--at least it seems to be on my computer. I can treemail you a method to copy anything but the All Rights Reserved photographs.

Well -- I did that, and it didn't work. All that showed up in the sent email was the link itself, but no way to view the photo. I must be doing something wrong...........

No, the person to whom you sent the link will have to click on the link. The only way I know of to have just the photograph is to download it to your computer, then send it as an attachment in the email. Either there is something skewed with my computer or Dave set the controls to where no photographs can be copied, not even the Creative Commons images (permission for which is set by the person who added the photograph to the database). I tried copying my db photograph of Ride the Waves, which is has Creative Commons permission, and nuttin' happens. I don't think it is you.

Ahah!! Well -- I practiced by sending the link via email to myself. Nothing happened when I clicked on the link. I was pretty sure I had done it right, so I didn't know what was wrong.

Doesn't matter, Deb -- I wanted to send a photo of one of my Irises to my friend to whom I had given a couple of rhizomes -- just so she could see what it was going to look like -- and I didn't have a photo of my own.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the process to me. Smiling

Mary Ann, what's the name of the Iris you want the picture of? Maybe one of us can help you with getting another picture.

Thanks for the offer, Barbara -- I'm just going to forget it. I gave her both Wintry Sky and Crowned Heads -- and wanted to show her the difference in their appearance. They were very nice rhizomes -- so she'll be able to SEE the difference in the spring!!! Green Grin!

Oh -- thanks Arlyn -- I have pictures of Wintry Sky, and sent one of them to her -- with the notation: Crowned Heads looks a lot like Wintry Sky!!

Think that'll get me off the hook??? Hilarious!

If the link is an exact copy and paste of the URL address, it should work. It can get mesed up if you add a period or something next to it at either end, it needs to not be connected in any way to any other text.
Can you copy and paste the link here so we can see where the problem might be? Sharing photos can be so nice so let's see if we can help!

What a good idea, Sue. It was actually your picture that I chose -- and I think I know what I did wrong. First I want to try it:

OK -- that worked. I was copying the information in front of the url as well. Now I'm going to go and try it in a regular email.

You can also do a screen shot of the pictures you want that should end up on your desktop. Drag or attach them to an email.

Thanks to Marilyn for teaching me how to do that on a Mac.

What information in front of the url? Confused The url should look like this, I just added a space after the 'http' so that the link shows. If you use that, it works as a link in emails.
http ://garden.org/plants/photo/159912/

If you are using the ATP BB Code above the image, that only works within ATP.
