Plectranthus 'Mona Lavender.' It had recovered well from its' near-death experience inside last winter, blooming well, but just kind of fizzled out. Declared officially dead about 3 weeks ago, but it was probably at least a month. I don't even have a theory why.

Epiphyllum oxypetalum (queen of the night & so many other common names.) Something keeps munching it as fast as it can grow. Needs a totally new situation next summer.

Birdnest fern (Asplenium nidus.) Nowhere near dead, but not back to the glory of last summer. Hung in same summer spot it loved last year. Wondering if getting too dry a few times over winter is more serious than for other plants. Will try to pay more attention this winter.

Pink Stripe Setcreasea, Tadescantia (setcreasea ) Pallida

The piece that was shaded by the canna leaf seemed to keep it's pink stripe but it did not increase in size like its' non-variegated parent. The piece that was in the sun is not the pretty purple color of this plant but a muddy pale purple.

Cinta, it must be a very slow growing plant. Sighing! Likewise, mine has barely grown this summer and I agree they can get ugly looking in the sun. Rolling on the floor laughing When you all figure out what it wants in order to look happy, let me know. Whistling

On the reverse end, I bought in my giant Creeping Charlie to it's new home inside our shower area in August. Plenty of light by a large garden window, breeze from the ceiling fan, and humidity from the shower. You'd think it would be the perfect conditions. But it is having great trouble acclimating and is about half the original size. I still have hope it will bounce back. Crying

Finally took a pic of the non-progress of "Pink Stripe Setcreasea, Tadescantia (setcreasea ) Pallida"

As I said it has not increased and it dose not have the vigor like its non varigated twin.

Full shade it look like this

Very pretty, even if slow!

Thought of Calandrinia (rock purslane.) Not unhealthy looking, just stuck doing nothing at all. If it's one that doesn't like humidity, that would make sense. Anyone have some that's doing great?

These 2 tiny Ludisias are obviously not happy after being grounded since March...

I have been looking at Ludisia for a couple of years. I was looking at those types of plants to go in Terrariums around in different rooms of the house. I think they would not do good in the ground. I think they really like a constant moist.

Could be! I know 2 places they don't like; in the pot inside my house, and in the ground in my yard where no organic matter has been added (yet!,) where grass was growing this spring. Terrestrial in origin, but from jungle areas with tons of organic matter in the loose soil.

reminded me that although a new leaf or two showed up on dormant Marantas, that's about all that happened. 1 stayed in a pot, 1 in the ground (but not good ground, a spot reclaimed from grass just this spring.) The other plants in the same pot with the potted one look pretty happy, but Maranta continues to be suicidal. I haven't had a good look at the ground plant for a few months, no idea if it's still under the other plants that grew over/around it or not. I didn't leave any place to step around that area. Will find out soon...
