We made our rounds through all the national parks at the end of August, looks like we missed you!
I got some pictures of this plant while in Utah, I didn't know what they were and now I do!
Thanks

We recently got back from an almost 3 week long trip. We visited 8 national parks and had a great time. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos! If you have any that you can't identify, post them to the Plant ID forum and we'll be glad to help!

We were gone for eleven days and went to 6 national parks.
Grand Canyon and all of them in Utah exept Canyonlands.
Went through some slot canyons too.
Hope you didn't get rained on with flash floods like we did! Hilarious!
You didn't happen to go to the Delicate Arch trail in Arches did you?
We almost died there because of the floods. nodding

I'll put them on the Plant ID forum.

Sounds like you did the same thing we did. We did Mesa Verde, Arches, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest and Carlsbad Caverns. We must have been following in your footsteps! We missed the flooding, thankfully. I'm glad ya'll made it out okay! Some in Zion weren't so lucky...

We did indeed hike to Delicate Arch. That slickrock got tiring but what a reward at the top!

We did go to the same places!
On our way to Mesa Verde we stopped at a huge nursery and got some plants.

It poured for an hour on our hike to delicate arch, there were waterfalls on all the cliffs rushing down making rivers where the trail was. It was in the high 90's at our house before we left, it was in the low 60's when it rained making us cold. Couldn't get pictures even though I had my camera. It got soaked and wouldn't work until the next day.
My camera is pretty tough, it also survived a mountain climb in Colorado past year. (It rained on that trip too!!!) Hilarious!

I was surprised by how big Delicate Arch was. In this photo, that's my four oldest under it:

That's some serious rain! We loved Balanced Rock. Actually, we loved the entire trip.

We're way off topic for a plant website, but hopefully nobody minds.

Weeping Rock at Zion NP. As you know, that's not rain!

Weeping Rock looks similar to Emerald Pools in Zion.

Yes, we are way off topic...

Here's an Aster looking into the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

We all had a great time too!

Slot canyon.
Hope you got to do a slot canyon!
