Well, as previously posted it didn't match what the tag said on the cutting when I got it.
Still, none the less this is my 1st ever plumeria bloom

So, I guess I need to find out what kind of plumeria it is now?

Patrick I think the flower you have is lovely; I would not hazard a guess what cultivar it is based on the picture alone; also this time of year is notoriously hard for identification; the declining daylight hours and intensity make some colors really wash out. Maybe by next summer you'll have a variety of pictures and I can take a stab at it.

with Hetty, there color might be more intense next year. And if lucky lovely is lucky, it might still come close to the picture. The petals looks similar.

Hey Lucky! I remember I used to have one similar looking noid one in 2011. It was also very slow in blooming, and more so in forming good leaves. Those were the times I was still a real newbie in Plumies. It bloomed in late Sept 2011 but leaves did not manage to grow like your cutting. Out of curiosity, after the blooms died off, I checked the bottom part in Nov 2011 to see how does it look with the unopened leaves, and that is how I really understood the importance of having good leaves. There was no roots.

So give yourself a good pat in the back! So good to see your plant is thriving very well! And we still have a good warm period, I do not see any cold overnights in the forecast. A real warm Fall for our general area for now!

I will have to check to see if there are any roots. Come November.
BTW: How did you check to see if there were any roots? Did you pull it out instead of winterizing it?

So how did your plumie bloom with no roots? Where did it get it's water from?
My poor lucky lovely has stunted while i was gone. My wife said no other blooms came out but another two leaves came out.

It still has buds of the petals that are getting bigger so hopefully I'll get some more blooms soon.

Hi Lucky! Your plant will have roots, it has grown some good fully opened leaves.

My old plant bloomed latent buds, leftover buds of previous season. It was not able to grow the little leaves properly which should indicate there is root formation below. So to double check then, after the little blooms died out, I pulled it out, true enough, no roots.

It helped me understand better the need to see those leaves form, that is why oftentimes, some would recommend removing the flowering part so the cutting can continue to concentrate forming roots instead. But I wanted to see what the blooms look like.

Sometimes Plumies do that, blooms before leaves forming ..or leaf forms then the blooms. So have to be careful in watering, and in our area, best to keep in part shade if our temps are still above 95F and higher. But it is Fall now, and our temps are really wonderfully warm and comfy for change! I have not moved any plants indoors yet.. a little extended season for us
