So I have a better understanding; if banners are submitted and then not approved, are they deleted out of the member banner file?

I was excited the other day when one of my submissions were used. When I looked through the ones that I had submitted, I thought that I had actually submitted more than I was seeing. But I passed it off as not because so much time had passed and I thought I had just forgotten. So then I may have submitted some of the same ones again, and then this morning I just happened to go look at the files I've submitted and several are already gone, or else I don't know how to get to a second page. So I'm guessing they are deleted out if not approved, and If they are deleted out, I suppose its hard for me because I might forget which I have submitted. But if they are deleted out, I'll try to figure another way to indicate on my own files which ones I've already submitted.

Thanks.

Why not create a separate folder on your hard drive to save the banners you've submitted?
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.

If you go here:

http://garden.org/barn/banners...

You'll see all the banners that you have submitted and that are approved.

We delete submitted banners if the image isn't up to the standards we've set, and we warn that this is the case when you upload it. This morning I deleted 48 banners that were blurry, too pixelated, or had other graphical problems.

Thanks. I certainly understand deletions - just wanted to know the exact practice. I'm really no photographer; though I do try; and it's fun seeing a banner I submitted used. I just didn't want to be re-submitting the same banner a second time if it was rejected the first time (which now I know 100% sure that creates more work for someone else). So I do need to create a separate folder indicating which ones I have submitted since currently they are spread out on my computer in *many* files - usually by the date they were taken. Was not 100% sure what this meant: "Note: Be aware that we may not keep and use every banner submitted." , although I had already previously read it. I don't know why, for some reason I had thought that perhaps this file http://garden.org/barn/banners... would contain *all* the banners I had submitted showing a *denied* or something instead of *approved*. That was silly in my thinking anyway, since that's a lot of server storage space if all banners were kept that were submitted. And I apologize that I do think I submitted some a second time because I didn't see them in the barn/banners file, and therefore thought that I hadn't actually submitted them at all. Thanks again!

It would be nice to show a declined banner but you're right about the server resources. Generally we clear them out and just delete the ones we're not going to use. We may change that one day.

Oops, I uploaded one wrong image for a banner and cannot delete it.
Then to make matters worse I uploaded the better photo twice. *Blush*
Please feel free to delete the bad one (too dark) and the duplicate. Sorry.
