Spotted these on eBay this morning. Knowing how you folks enjoy his iris, thought I would post the link;

http://www.ebay.com/sch/iris_s...

Can rhizomes be stored indoors over the winter or should they be potted?

Thanks

Thank you & Blessings

they are pretty similar indeed. Since Iris Sisters are pretty well know here in the group, they would be about the only ones I would deal with on ebay for irises. Other wise it will be a regular known website that I would go thru or another member here in the group.

I was surprised how many of them I already have. There were only a couple that I would be interested in, but I'm full up at the inn, so to speak.

Love Art At Dawn and Legally Orange. However, it is getting a bit late to plant and expect good results. Especially if you count the time it will take to ship. sigh

FYI, I sent them a message asking if they were the same and would they combine shipping. Here is the reply;

"Yes we do combine shipping on Cassiechug wins and Iris Sisters wins. There are two accounts because my mom lets me handle some of the clearance irises to pay for college classes. They do ship from the same place."

Oh. My. Goodness. Why did I look? Why, oh, why? Put bids in on two of cassiechug's auctions... Sighing! Sighing!
(Thank you, John, these are two I have wanted for awhile. Smiling )

OK, here's the big question. I live in zone 5A. Can they go outside or would be best to pot them over the winter?

And I also bid on Pretty Kitty (Keppel)
Iris Sisters is my favorite seller and CassieChug is her daughter - doing some
commerce for her college expenses! They will combine shipping.

We were discussing earlier the costs in ordering directly from Barry Blyth in
Australia. These on ebay are truly a bargain!

John, I think they will do ok with "ground planting", as long as you "tie them down" (i.e. sit a rock, or a 1/2 brick on top.....stake them in with a landscape pin, or something similar) They will 'make roots' up until the time the ground freezes. That said, you COULD pot them......they *might* root a little faster that way, as you could move them around to always have *ideal* conditions.....and then sink the pot, rim deep, in the garden , before freeze up.

I would love to get pretty kitty. Like others. I'm not gonna bid against others here on the forum, plus I wanna wit till spring even though the weather would support planting.now.
