Roots, tubers, rhizomes, et cetera -- sheesh. Anyway, I finally put em all (my summer "bulbs") to bed today. Sprinkled with powdered sulphur and nestled in my packing material (a mixture of perlite, shredded paper, vermiculaite and packing peanuts) in paper bags then in cardboard boxes. I finally got all of these packed up and stored til May. [I do check them once or twice over winter for rot and shriveling.]

Hoping I don't lose much over Winter. Last year all my Caladiums bit the dust.

I wish I could pot up sooner for an earlier start, but I just do not have space. Pot and put out after danger of frost - usually Mother's Day.

David when you get older you will have room. I do not grow seeds and cut back on some of the trees I was bring in especially all the Brugmansias. Lots of room for pots. I have all of what you bring in except two or three but all mine stay in the pots. No digging and packing.

Some I will have to divide in the Spring because they really multiplied this summer. Especially the Tuberose they have been in the pot for 4 yrs. I have to keep those growing over the winter or I found I do not get flowers until almost winter. Now I get flowers in August, one year it was July until Sept they flowered.

Yeah my Tuberose went crazy too. In terms of reproduction, but I only had 2 blooms. :-(

FWIW - I have 3 Brugmansia blooming or near bloom in my basement grow area under lights.

When I get older? I am older. And there is NO freaking room for any more pots in my house. None.

Okay maybe I meant older at trying to grow everything.

I had 15 Brugs, two Plumeria, 20 EE's, and, and, and.......I just looked out there that Fall and said "Well Old Man winter is going to have fun"

The Brugs and a couple of the EE's were the only regret I had. The Brugs I had concentrated on getting beautiful variegated, special color and fragrant blooms etc. The EE's I had picked up during my Business/Vacation travel to tropical islands those I know I will never find again.
