Help ID this Ti Plant in the Houseplants forum

Hi all, I've had this plant for awhile, but don't know the name of it. I believe it's a Ti plant, but the leaves are narrower than my other red Ti plant. It almost looks like a cross between dracaena and ti. The bloom though looks like a Ti. I looked through the plant database and Google, but didn't see anything exactly like this one.

It's blooms are pretty.

I can't help with the ID. But I feel sure that it's a variety of cordyline. Some do have narrower or wider leaves than others. I'd love to get my hands on some dwarf plants with wide leaves.

Gorgeous! Looks like some kind of Cordyline to me too. It could be a cultivar of C. fruticosa, or another species. According to Wiki, there's either 15 or 24 species...

Deebie - thank you! I would love a dwarf variety too

PurpleinOpp - thanks, I didn't know there were so many species! I'm sure it's something fairly common, as it came from one of the big box stores. It would be nice to have a name, but I'll just keep treating it like any other cordyline until then.

Yes, that is Cordyline fruticosa (Ti plant). Looks like the cultivar named 'Sensation' AKA 'Hot Pepper'.

ScotTi! "Hot Pepper" is gorgeous and it looks very similar, although the new leaves on mine aren't as pink. Maybe mine needs more sun - it's getting Northern exposure now but no direct sun. Hmmm, might be time for a move... Thanks again!

This is a great Ti for full sun locations in the garden here in FL. I have it growing in five different locations all but one in full sun. The more shaded location plant looks like yours. I will try to get a photo of the shaded grown plant for you. Let the flowers set seed and have fun growing Ti from seed, you will be surprised what you can end up with.

Doesn't the species australis have narrower leaves than fruticosa? Maybe a variety of Cordyline australis? For comparison: Cabbage Tree (Cordyline australis 'Sunrise')
