I'm signed up for DND's swap but I'm also seriously considering joining yours. But I have a question. If I list something for both swaps how will that work? Can I designate a certain number of packets for one swap and the rest for the other? Or is it just one big pot for both swaps? I don't remember which swap starts first but I'd hate for everyone in one swap to take everything and leave nothing for the other swap!

If you want to offer the same seeds with the same exact specs to both swaps you can list it in your master swap list as two separate entries. When you have joined both swaps you will have two columns on the left of your swap list. You can then check the box in the column for DnD's swap for one of them and then check the box for the Not from the Seed Rack swap for the other one.
I am in two swaps. Here is how my list looks now as I am starting to add seeds although I have not split any seeds between swaps yet. The columns on the left represent Swap 2 for Horntoad (the other swap I joined), Swap 4 for mine. Scroll down and you can see which seeds I have assigned to each swap by the green checks in their respective columns. I have not activated some seeds yet for either swap and may not, but I will be adding every day.
Clear or murky?

Murky, lol. I forgot the link. http://garden.org/apps/swap/li...

I think my problem is that I use my phone & not a computer to use ATP. When I view your link I can't tell what seeds go with what swap, there is only one column.

But it should work like you say if I put the entries in twice then I can choose which one goes to which swap.

Now I just need to check and make sure I have enough unusual seeds to justify joining!

They don't have to be obscure. It's hard to decide what is and is not unusual from garden to garden. The point is that if you are going to post "Yellow Marigolds" for example, they should be from named varieties or ones that are not on the Ferry Morse rack at the County Feed Store. There is nothing wrong with those seeds, I grow plenty of them, but they are not the focus of this swap.

@Dave, is there anything that can be done about bxncbx's problem viewing swap multiple columns on her phone?

Alana, I'm going to sign up. This will be my first time using, or viewing, this system. I'll try to start on my list today. If I happen to do anything wrong, please let me know. Or, I might be back asking questions if I can't figure it out. Confused

Ask away, Erica. If I don't have the answer we will find out. I'm delighted to have you join. Some of us just finished a very successful trial run so I think you will like it once you get started. Like the Piggy Swap, it appears more complicated from the outside looking in than it is once you try it.

@bxncbx those columns don't exist on the page that you were given as a link. They only show up on your own swap list where you're managing your entries. You'll see them whether you're on a mobile device or a desktop. Smiling

I think I've got the listing down. A little tedious, but definitely doable. It will probably take me a couple days to finish.

Your swap directions mentioned having a wish list. Where are we supposed to make/post that?

Thanks Dave.

Erica, you can create your wish list by opening the swap page and clicking on "Access the Full Trade List for this swap. Each entry has 5 gray stars above the plant name. You add things to your wish list by selecting 1 to 5 stars above the items you are interested in, 5 signifying the greatest interest.
Once you have starred some items a new link will appear on your page for your wish list, which will contain only those items you have starred.

Thanks @Dave and @poisondartfrog!

It's hard for me to know what is typically on a seed rack because we don't have any in NYC. I have to go upstate to see any. I thought it meant nothing common, like marigolds and sweet peas. Thanks for the clarification. I'm going to join. If I list something that seems common to you just let me know. I can always list it in the other swap!

I must be crazy doing 3 swaps in 2 months!

Me too, crazy that is.
I almost did limit the swap to truly rare and unusual but I did not want to scare people away. Maybe that is a swap for later when people have gotten comfortable with this system.

Duane,
Did you check mark them in the left column of your swap list under the heading Swap #4?

I'm crazier than all of you! I'll be packing up the Wish List Swap on Cubits while participating in this one. I missed out on the beta swap and really want to try the new system. At least that's my excuse!
