I'm so excited, guys! Tomorrow is the start time for everyone that has signed up, I believe; that is because midnight on January 4th is the evening of January 3rd for everyone in the US.

Start time: 7pm EST

I hope you're all as excited as me. If any of you have friends that might be interested in signing up, let them know they can still do so through the end of the swap trading period (registration allows sign-ups mid-swap) but it's better if they join today or early tomorrow for maximum benefit to everyone. Even if it stays this small, cozy group of people, it's already an amazing assortment of seeds!

I only have one thing listed but I have 20 packets of it. I wasn't sure how this swap worked, even after reading the rules a couple times. Who do I send the money too? If no one wants the seeds I have, should I remove my wants?

Kathy, that's perfectly fine! That meets the 3-packet requirement! (It's a light requirement on purpose.)

You send the money in to the host (me) after the trading ends. An address is provided to you in a system notification at that time. Please don't un-request anything if no one requests your items. Many of the seeds in this swap need someone to give them a loving home, so they are yours even if you aren't shipping any seeds in yourself. Thumbs up I know i, for one, am happy to see my seeds find homes. Some are varieties I got in a kit that I can't grow.

Cheryl was the first one to claim dibs on an item--whoo hoo! Nice quick clicking there! Others were in hot pursuit, too. So far, it looks like everyone had their eye on something different from each other, it seems to have a nice spread at the moment.

Those of you that are concerned that you might not be 'quick enough', don't forget that you can use the search textbox in the tradelist to search for the items you want.

And I must apologize, I don't know if everyone was clear that you need to click on the TREASURE BOX ICON to claim dibs. It didn't occur to me to remind everyone about that until I saw them because that not be completely intuitive for everyone. So, to reiterate...

to claim dibs on an item, click on the TREASURE BOX ICON

and don't worry about accidentally double-clicking an item. The system only allows you to claim one item of a given type. (For instance, if I have a listing of 10 packets of Mammoth sunflower seeds, you cannot use two of your dibs to get two seed packets.) If you want two of a given seed type, make sure to talk to the person listing it and try to work something out. They might give you an extra pack at the end of the swap if they have extras or they can split their listing into two different list items to 'trick' the system into letting you have second dibs. (I would request and recommend that you don't use this method often since the idea behind the system's setup is to allow as many people in a swap to have a chance at getting that variety.)
