The first time I saw Joan Derifield bloom, I was blown away. The deep saturated red, like velvet, and that beautiful watermark, I knew that I wanted more. I added Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Cerise Masterpiece, and Cimarron Rose last year, and am anxious to see them bloom. I would like to add a couple more, looking for something with a little more pronounced white edge perhaps. Please share your pics for inspiration, and any info on them would be great too.

Thanks, Gale

Joan Derifield

Fear Not is the only red with a watermark that I have, I think. The picture of it was a big hit last year, which made me proud! I hope you like it, too!:

Hello Gale,
Reds are one of my favorites, but I only seem to have one that fits your description exactly. However, if you are willing to widen your criteria a bit more, I'll list a few others:

Talladega (Stamile, 2008) The price has really come down on this one in the last two years

Thumb of 2016-01-25/LarryW/4b44df
Melissa Begnaud (FR Smith, 2008) Registered as "white eye and halo" but has always had an ivory-to-light yellow edge in my garden

Thumb of 2016-01-25/LarryW/cf708f
Run for the Roses (S Hollet, 2010) Registered as having a "pink halo"
If you can accept a white watermark with a yellow edge, you might consider

Fighting Fire is my favorite red with a watermark. Here is makes lots of prolifs, increases quickly, and reblooms well.

Red Edition has a beautiful bloom, but seems a bit tender after a bad winter.

Joan Derifield is a favorite of mine, too. I finally bought Cimarron Rose after seeing so many posting images of it, hope you like it as much as the rest of us Smiling
A few more I thought of that are on my favorite watermarked reds list....

Jellyroll Morton, beautiful color, form, big bloom on a tall plant.

Wispy Rays, oldie but goodie, not exactly what you were asking for but it is inexpensive and never fails to stop visitors in their tracks.

Love in a Vacuum, not as pronounced an edge as some of the others previously posted, but the deep saturated color is perfection!

A deep rose red, Carnal Emporium doesn't have a white edge either....

Sorry, guess I'm not much help for adding edges.....but it sure is nice to see all these pretty reds. Dale Hensley and Fighting Fire are both gorgeous!
