Asters and butterflies (Skipper) go hand in hand. I grow NE asters and in the fall, they're covered with butterflies.

Oh, pretty! And what a cute and clever title for the banner. I'd never heard them called "Skippers," but they look like the little butterflies that used to cover the Lantana in my neighbor's front yard when I was a child. Smiling

Kurt, it's great to see butterflies in the banner! Hurray! Don't be a stranger - come check out the best forum on ATP! I may be a little biased, seeing as how I'm moderator, but I think we're pretty darn awesome. It's more birds than butterflies these days, but we can always plan for spring!

I am certainly not trying to be a stranger anywhere Melanie , just naturally quiet and tired usually , your forum is and has been on my watch list. 99.9% of the gardening I do is to feed and draw in more birds and butterflies. I would not mind a small pond one day to attract more then the 2 or 3 occasional tree frogs I have seen so far , I do have a small two tier waterfall and small table top (modified for hummingbirds) fountain for now. Just a little more concerned with growing them gabbing at the moment but rest assured when growing requires gabbing I will be there .. lol

I just posted a photo of Sapphire Mist, as this banner is labeled, and it has it's own entry in the database? I'm wondering if 'Sapphire' and Sapphire Mist are one and the same? I think they are but either way your banner photo belongs under the other entry.
