This is another winner in my book. Thank you, Marilyn! I'm especially surprised to see that it is okay for part shade in addition to being suitable for my zone. The color is lovely.

This looks to be the same or nearly the same as my S Guaranitica (Coerulea is apparently the name they are using now but many places still use "Guaranitica"). I hadn't heard of this one, it may be a different variant or hybrid. It sure gets confusing sometimes. At any rate the Guaraniticas (Coeruleas) are wonderful! Some of mine last year were in areas that got some afternoon shade and they did as well- but the ones I had on my front porch, which gets more shade, didn't do as well- they grew and bloomed,, just not as full or as many blooms.

Guaranitica can take quite a bit of shade.
Longwood Gardens in Pa has mass planted this cultivar for many years now. It tends to be a small guaranitica. Kermit commented at another site that he had tested it but didn't find in any way exceptional. Hopefully I am quoting him correctly.
