I'm not understanding your post, Aril -- are you saying that the starred Irises are ones that you could trade out? And that you'd like other Blyth Irises in exchange?

I think the stars are new. Where do you live that Blyths don't do well?

Blyth SDBs do well here. I have never tried the TBs as it would take some testing to see which do well & which don't like it here. We have been changed from 6a to 6b, but we must have had the conditions before it was changed. We are NE of Boston.

I'm West of Boston and considered 6a. I planted quite a few Blyth TBs this past summer so I guess I will see what happens by May/June.

Blyth's do well here AR, 7a, and Debra @lovemyhouse in TX reports that they do well for her. However some members of the Central AR Iris Society from southern AR say they do not do well enough in their gardens to afford investing in them.

Most of his amoena types don't do well for me zone7 east tn I'm starting to believe they need better drainage Barry's soil type is mostly sand. Other types seem to like it I believe I will move adoree and ginger ice to the arilbreds beds adoree has been here 3 years and barely holds on with a single increase each season and no bloom since the first season did get seed times tango amigo The * are new acquisitions this season

Tango Amigo and Ginger Ice grow well here. Adoree is a slow grower, but holds on and blooms. I have very sandy soil here. I have been using Ginger Ice very heavily in recent years to make seed pods, so that has slowed it down a bit for making new increases.

We lighten up our clay soil with compost and rice hulls...but maybe I should be adding sand?

Thanks for that, Rob. I won't be adding sand! One less thing to do! Actually, I think our soil is pretty good, and we have an ongoing compost heap
that gets spread around when ready.

I've checked the database for Blyths that I have. 83 come up, but of those, some,
are from my want list. (I don't know how to print out the list without having to type it up!).

Just spent a little time trying to make a list of the Blyth irises I have, and a few of what I want:
I'm a terrible list maker, and my plant list didn't state the hybridizer in every case Confused
My Have lists include some in the ground that have bloomed, not bloomed yet, and are on order for 2016.

Good grief... you guys... so many irises.... * faints *

Having learned from Debra how to search my plant list Thank You! , I can say that I have all of 3 Blyth cultivars on order: 'Chased But Chaste', 'Platinum Passion', and 'Wedding Kiss'.

I don't (and probably won't) have a "Blyth Bed", but that last one could go in a memory bed... Whistling
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

Brad sent me a humongous box last summer, Rob. Ones he'd divided. Many were Blyths. I'm so grateful.
