I have only planted the first of six Clematis that will be coming this year. Since this is my first year growing Clematis, I don't know if I will have any blooms to share. I may have to wait a few
years perhaps. But in any case, what I will be growing are:: Rosemoor, Josephine, Jackmanii,
Rouge Cardinal, Hagley Hybrid, and Versailles. Wish me Luck ! Thumbs up

Dawn was my first bloom as well.

Bourbon is also in bloom, and Mayleen is starting to climb through the Kerria.

And this one's a rose, but it's called The Imposter because the blooms look like Clematis blooms.

Poor Bourbon is climbing up a dogwood tree right in the middle of that PG&E easement where they're going to replace the old gas pipe. They've been so slow about it that I haven't even tried to move anything out of their way yet. They told me about it in October and now it's March and they still haven't set any dates for the work. I'm sure Bourbon will survive the transplant, but the poor dogwood probably won't.

Hello everyone, and Sue thanks for starting this thread.

It's nice to see the clematis season starting. Lovely blooms Sue, Zuzu, Anna, and Debra!

My 1st blooms here always come from C. armandii. Unfortunately, the yard guys kept trimming it in the fall, and ruined the plant, so I don't have as many blooms this year.

This is the 2nd spring for Fragrant Spring. It was moved last year to this arbor, and had a tremendous amount of growth last year. This will be it's 1st year blooming.

Ok, this is my first year growing Clematis - I have ordered (6) Clematis. (4) of them will be planted in Urns, and (2) of them will be planted in the ground around my home. So far, I have received
Clematis 'Rosemoor' and it is planted in a stone Urn. I'm very excited about growing Clematis
and am hoping they all bloom for me this Spring/Summer, but I tend to think that they probably
will not - it will take a few growing seasons for them to get to blooming stage. Has anyone here
grown Clematis in pots/containers?

They just may surprise you and bloom the first year. It's happened more often than not for me.

I only have one in a pot and have to find a good spot to plant it. Hand watering is too time consuming for me.
