Apparently they are not seen much. I sure don't know why. When I was selling, they were always grabbed right away.

Mine is finished blooming now, but even the spent blooms are interesting. I'm leaving them in place in hopes that they will self sow themselves.

How long have you had yours Zuzu?
I got mine last fall. I sure hope they stay around. I read that they are a short lived plant.

Some of mine have been here since 2005. I think they're only a short-lived plant if you pick the flowers every year. I never pick the flowers. I always leave them on the plant.

Love that Elena! Rolling on the floor laughing (That's my name, in case anyone doesn't know.)

The combination of Indian summer and a little bit of rain has produced so much new growth on my roses, even new basal shoots. I love the dark red color of new rose foliage. I'll take some photos of it tomorrow.

Your garden's full of so many interesting color and texture combinations, Sue. I love that first photo!

Wow, it's a great day to be on the Pacific Coast instead of the Atlantic. There's a check-in thread for the Northeast people in DG, but no one's heard from Pirl yet. I hope she's okay.

I love that foliage combo Zuzu, I don't have too many of those but I really tried hard to make that particular section all work with a variety of color and texture. What you can't see behind the pinkish rose cordyline is the rose 'Jacob's Robe' so the rose pink gets repeated. Then to the left of the cordyline, that euphorbia 'Ascot Rainbow' also has a bit of rose in the leaves and stems. The black leaves are from a dahlia with yellow blooms that have been going for months now.

And that black gets repeated with another euphorbia not shown, 'Blackbird' Euphorbia (Euphorbia x martini Blackbird)

OK, one more post, copying some stuff from my blog.
Does anyone want any seeds for Nicotiana sylvestris? It is a tall annual with big bold foliage and white hanging 3-4" trumpet shaped blooms in large candelabra clusters. The blooms have a sweet fragrance that intensifies in the evenings, great for planting near a sitting area or next to an open window. Thumbs up
I had it in full sun in my other garden where it grew about 4-5 ft. tall but here in my new garden I have a large plant that self seeded and gets a little mid afternoon shade and it is about 7 ft. tall, ( photos below taken in August) It made a great architectual statement. A few more have self seeded in other spots in poorer soil, they didn't grow as tall. They are easy to pull where you don't need them. They are tough plants and do real good through hot weather, of course, with regular water they really thrive. Anyway, I have several packets of seeds left, just shoot me a t-mail if anyone is interested in trying them.

Ohh, nice bright color for the fall!!

I am having fun going through older threads in here, it's easy to go through all the photos in a thread at once by clicking on the first photo to enlarge it and then clicking anywhere on the photo to advance it to the next one & on through the entire thread.
