Just curious what everyone was thinking. I love reading over the articles in the Journal about top pics

I am in zone 6 and many did well but these stood out

MOUNTAIN WILDFLOWER was a fav

Spunky's LILLIAN'S CRAZY ARMS added a bunch of fans

THOMAS TEW also did well

Leslie's Carolyn Meriovsky grew well, had many blooms and rebloomed well.. see her pic below

What did well in your garden? Which set the most pods? etc. Teresa

All of mine did well except a couple. These are older ones and increased in less than a year. The ones that did the best in my GARDEN were

LILLIAN'S LITTLE JOE (3 fans to 12 fans)
TUSCAWILLA TIGRESS (2 fans to 12)
INDIAN PUMPKIN (2 fans to 13) reg as mL but bloomed early here w/lots rebloom
EYE OF ROUND (2 fans to 13)
LOVE THOSE EYES (2 fans to 11)
SPANISH SKETCH (2 fans to 15)
LEXINGTON AVENUE (2 fans to 15)

These were in my HYBRIDIZING area. Just about all of mine increased some and set some pods, but the ones listed are the best increasers/pod setters.

These increased well and set lots of pods

LILLIAN'S BANGING MANGOS (increased and set pods)
LILLIAN'S LIES and ALIBIS (increased and set pods)
LILLIAN'S CLOCKWORK ORANGE (increased and set pods)
LILLIAN'S MUD BUG STEW (increased and set pods)
OPEN MY EYES (increased and set pods)
FROG'S EYE (increased and set pods)

These either didn't increase or slow increase but set pods or increased well with no pods but very fertile pollen

BUDDY'S BLACK JACK (got late in season so no increase but set lots of pods)
CAROL TODD (slow increase but lots of pods)
ORANGE BLOSSOM TRAIL (increased some but lots of pods)
LAUGHING SKIES (I started with a clump and didn't count fans so not sure of increase but sets lots of pods)
VIRGIL'S SUSPENDERS (great increase and very fertile pollen but I don't think Kim tried to set pods on it)
FRANK'S BLACK EYED SUSAN (if you do dips and mini/small flowers, this one sets pods on every bloom)
LILLAN'S FUNKY SPUNKY (increased but very pod difficult. Pollen is very fertile though)
CIRCLE OF FIRE (increased some but lots of pods)

My favorite in 2011 has got to be Pandora's Treasure. Not only did I just receive it this summer, but because I had to remove some dead trees, I did not have the money to pull out the evergreens from in front of my house, and build the bed I wanted to there - so PT got popped into a pot (OK, kitty litter bin with holes drilled in the bottom). Then PT bloomed, AND rebloomed (first rebloomer I ever had)

For flower profusion, Catherine Neal, even though it was transplanted, twice.

As for pods (I only collected bee pods, played at dabbing just to 'try' - too new at this) some of my old cottage dips were crazy pod heavy. Most of the other daylilies I got very few bee pods from.

Most pleasant surprise is H. Citrina. I purchased it because it was a historic, and I was planning on moving it to our western PA cottage this summer, but enjoyed it too much. So now I will wait until it increases enough, then transplant some fans there. I just loved the nocturnal flowers, (which I had NO CLUE and it took a forum member to tell me that was what was going on!) shape and fragrance.

Favorite 2011 purchases have to be Moosa Pa Loosa from Bobby Baxter, and Westbourne Ol Mining Camp LIghts from Mary Jane Meadows - can't wait until they bloom in 2012.

And my most favorite flower was Charles Johnston. Just loved it's size and red color. I had to transplant it (it was planted behind one of my heirloom dips, which grew taller than I expected) late this past summer, and it didn't recover well, so I hope it survives the winter with extra mulch and some TLC.

This is not the best photo of it, in real life it was simply gorgeous.

My best I have to say was Boundless Beauty (Stamile 05). It had scapes so late on rebloom I brought it inside in a pot as had a dbl. fan planted in a bed so this one came inside. It set pods and I was able to get some seeds in Dec. that ripened and I am now trying to get them to sprout. I don't think too many would do that.

New to me in 2011, these 3 daylilies did well for me despite the cold wet spring and summer.

Nice ones!!! I think Indian Giver does well in just about any climate. I first saw it in a garden in zone 4 and I knew I wanted it. I thought if it grows that well in zone 4 it should do wonderful in my zone 5 and it has.

I grow both dips and tets but the dips just seem to increase so much better for me. I am looking forward to seeing the ones I ordered last yr. I think it takes them a yr to really show off.

I added
Buddy's Wild and Wonderful
Lillian's Crazy Arms
Lillian's Banging Mangoes
Violet Becomes You
French Twist
Hold Your Horses
Guineas on Parade
Grimheld
Thomas Tew
Painted Pinwheel
Early Shirley
Webster's Pink Wonder

I think some of these may be my favs for 2012
