The date is set! April 28, 2012 in the small community of Lockhart, AL, right beside Florala, AL. We are trying a new location this time, but the fun will be the same or even better if you come join us. This swap has been going on approximately 10 years, so we just can't give up the good time we have getting together to swap plants, exchange ideas, meet new people, lunch together, give away door prizes, and anything else we come up with. Everyone interested come join us, you don't have to have a ton of plants, just come experience the fun with more plant nuts like yourself. We don't swap plant for plant very much, just share what we have and always go home with more than we intend to. There will be some online trading before the swap, so a trade list will be on another thread. But don't despair if it's a last minute decision to come, there are ALWAYS plenty of plants available that day. Let us know here if you will be coming, hope to come, want to come, ask more questions, what ever. Starting time is officially at 10:00 so those travelling a little distance don't have to get up too early, but folks usually start showing up around 8:30 or so, and there's no holding back, trading starts when the first two people get there.

There is a campground at the new location, and one on Lake Jackson in Florala. There are two bed/breakfast (Lake House has new owners and has had some renovation work done). There is a small motel by the lake and surrounding towns have larger motels (Andalusia & Opp, AL; Crestview & Defuniak Springs, FL). If anyone wants more info on these, just ask.

It's so easy! The pond and campground are right on highway 55 coming out of Florala, AL going north. The pond is right outside the city limit of Florala, which is where Lockhart begins.

It is all over my yard, so it can be invasive, but I like it. Even did a hanging basket of it one year...did great till the hanger broke and Bill got to the clean up before me Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing oh well plenty more in the yard Shrug!

I don't know why gin, but it seems hard to get anyone interested here. Over on the other site they are hot to trot already. Soon as some lists get more definite, I'll ask if I can share them here, or get them to sign up here.

Gee... If i can only get some work done here between now and then..get the garden out where nature can care for it...and maybe the drip system will be up this year ... and finish some work for others that's begun.. [ note to myself ... get out to do it every day before 1 PM ]
so.. I should have
some
Passiflora temptation x temptation plants... and seeds galore
summer poinsettia's [amaranth ]
maybe some brugs newly rooted
oh some cuban oreagano cousin with dark leaves and blue flowers.. same rampant growth
perhaps others
OH Brenda... if Fleming Island Rachael isn't spoken for I'd love to have it... perhaps I can start something in one of my brugs for you.. what do you like in them...
OH>> I almost forgot.. I can't find that campground listed to call... is it across the raod from where you see the pond.. walking around with Google earth wasn't much of a help in finding it.. likely the time of year it was taken
similar amaranth pictured
Thumb of 2012-03-28/GordonHawk/57ff8f
OH.. I'll have lots of cactus if there's any interest in them ... they start looking like this after a few years..double click on it to get the idea of it.. all flowers are on one cactus .. ok... it looks like this just for a few weeks in the summer ..
