I got my first Lily Auction Win in Saturday for Spring 2012. I am sooo happy with these seedling. I won these from Sandyp60 aka Sandy Perkins. They are 18 month old seedlings that didn't bloom last year for her but I'd bet they do this year because they are huge seedlings. They are:

Crazy Ivan x Dove in Flight
Over the Mountain x Raspberry Mountain
Midnight Amulet x Magnificent Grape
Rubies for Congo x Talladega
Velvet Eye seedling x Merchant of Venice (Bonus)
I got 2 fans of each

I got another one in today. It's from Jamie aka Jeri Gomez on the Lily Auction. I've been getting plants from Jeri since I first started buying plants on the auction. In fact, she was one of the first, maybe the first person I bought from online. She is very generous, has fantastic plants and always sends a great bonus.

I got these plants today:

Zahadoom
Funky Blues
fashion Police
Gavin Petit
Great Goolsby = Bonus

I didn't get pictures because I had to go to town today. Maybe tomorrow.

Blessings to all, Mona

Thanks everyone!!!! I've got several more coming. Now to find some 5 gallon pots to put them in. I may have to visit my local landscaping company to see if they have anymore. I robbed them last year, well, not robbed when they give them away. The deal was get one, take them all. We had a 12 foot trailer stacked about 5 pots hight laying on there sides plum full. A lot!!!! of pots!!! Most were 3 gallon, which is great for a single fan or maybe 2 if the roots aren't too big. But, if I want to put 3 or 4 in a pot, I need 5 gallons size.

Oh well, something else to add to my to do list.

Blessing Mona

I use those large plastic kitty litter bins for my "pots". Drill a couple holes in the bottom, put in a layer of gravel, and then fill. So if you know anyone with cats that would like to recycle.....~Jan

I've got bunches of what I call three gallon size. They were all free so I don't know if they are 3 or 5 gallon. If you lived near me Mona, you could have some. I've got more than I will ever use now. My neighbor keeps bringing them over and leaving them beside the house. What I need more of is the tree pots. They are the best size to grow them in for making deep roots. I really think what I have is 3 gallon size. Sometimes he gives me some that are the same size across the top but they are much deeper. I think those must be the five gallon size.

Hi Dot, Wish I lived closer. It would be so wonderful to have daylily people in the neighborhood that I could visit, talk, work with, borrow and trade all items!!! Atleast I have everyone one here to be with!

I live a long way Dot, I think it's about 600 miles from here to Fort Worth. Tupelo, Ms is in the Northeast area of MS.

Thanks so much for the offer. I may end up putting some in 7 gallon pots. But they are huge, big tree pots, they may be 10 gallon, I'm not sure either about this size.

Blessings, Mona

Doris or David: yes I'll ship y'alls out on Saturday so you should get them on Monday.

Mona, the secret to my roots being that way is alfalfa mixed in the soil (with the other stuff I use). I have seen plants with it and without and I seriously think it helps. Plus I sit the pots in the beds that aren't planted but have the pine bark mixture in it. The roots grow down to the moisture . Sometimes in pots the water just doesn't always saturate all the potting mix and I think the roots just stay where it's moist. If I have pots that aren't in the beds I'll fill another pot part way with the pine bark and sit the other pot inside, it works the same way. I was pleased when I started unpotting them. I was afraid the fans may be on the small side, but once they got washed they look bigger than when in the pots.
