Thought maybe we could start a new thread so we didn't lose all the pictures in the chat thread.

I love this time of year. All the semps are coming out of their winter naps and coloring up so pretty. Finally got a little rain today so that should help too.

Wow, they are pretty. I have some of those and probably should take some pictures so we can compare. I think yours are ahead of mine but I haven't looked in the last couple of days. If we'd get some rain, maybe mine would start moving along.

We're way ahead of normal this year. Yes, it would be fun to compare too!

And I'm way behind in the weather department this year. When I left the house this morning the beds were covered in snow.
When I get home I'll post some photos I took about 2 weeks ago, when the weather was a little warmer. Things were starting to color up, not sure what I'll find when the snow is gone.

Great idea to start a new photo thread Chris. Hurray!

I finally was able to take some photos yesterday, late in the day. The snow was almost all gone after having sunshine for most of the day.
I hope to get at least one bed cleaned up today and maybe another tomorrow. Very tedious work this time of year. I have found several very tiny seedlings coming up in bed one. Hurray!
I need to prepare a separate bed for the seedlings, maybe tag them with what bed and plant they came up by?

Wow, Rauhreif is really coloring up. This is a new one for me, that I got from SMG last summer. Will be interesting to see what it's mature size will be and what other surprises it holds in store color wise.

Fiesta is setting itself on fire now.

Another new one from last year. The Flintstones

I can't begin to tell you how in love I am with this tiny semp. Comollii. Tiny, sweet and heavy on the production of offsets. It took me two years to get this one going. It was well worth the effort.

Beautiful! Does Comollii hold its yellow color well? Very different, and nice. Great picture of The Flintstones - love those fuzzy ones! Lovey dubby

Comollii does have a lot of yellow through a good bit of the year. The rest of the year it is a beautiful jade green. Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum x comollii)

Be sure to put The Flinstones on your list for me to send you. : )

Opps, we cross posted tabby. : )

Most are from last Oct. But I see where it is already making offsets this spring. I think this one is difficult to get going because the rosettes are so small. Any disturbance (cats, squirrels, Blue Jays) keeps the from getting a healthy root system going. I finally moved it to another bed and covered that bed with bird netting. That did the trick. They really took off after that.

Will be interesting to see what it does this year, now that they are happy.

Don't forget to add your photos to the database, that way they will always be easy to find. : )

The snow is gone and has been replace with rain. A record breaking amount of moisture for the month of March. Sad
In spite of all the rain most of the semps are showing no ill affects. I do have a few that are not happy however. I really do need to get out and take photos of the one that have trouble with long periods of rain. Maybe even start a new thread for varieties that don't do well in long rainy season areas?

This one definitely doesn't mind the long rainy season we have. It's a keeper, for sure. Lovey dubby

Margaret, all of them should grow in your zone. They love the cold and snow cover, just as long as the soil drains well. No standing water.

This one isn't fuzzy, but it is one of the darkest semps I have, it gets almost black by the end of winter/early spring. Then starts turning red with wonderful watermarkings.

Here is a small, slightly fuzzy one with webbing. Very sweet little semp.
