This is the last group I had picked out pictures for and I just haven't had time to post them until now. All are tall bearded except as otherwise noted. I hope others will post pictures of their darks too!

All those should pass muster in any garden. I love the solid rugged colors with contrasting beards or any sharply contrasting standards and falls.

There are others that have yet to bloom for me or that the blooms were messed up due to rain/wind and I did not get good pictures of them.

Like:

Before the Storm
Anvil of Darkness
Night Ruler
Star in the Night

My all time favorite though, is Night Game by Keith Keppel.

Some nice dark ones. I only have a few, and one called Back in Black that has never bloomed.

Midnight Treat also in a clump

Very nice, Tom! Love that clump shot! And one thing I really love about the SDB's is the fantastic beard colors. I just wish I could grow more, because I really love them. But most of them won't bloom for me -- only one of Barry Blyth's and a few from Sutton's bloom for me each year. Did you see that BLACK LIGHTNING SDB that Lucy posted? Aren't those beards fantastic?

Yes, I really love that Black Lightning, I hadn't seen it before. Lucy did you create that one? I have another one called Dark Crystal, but don't have a good pic of it. I see that it's sending out a bloom, so should be opening in a few days. It's been cooler here, so things have slowed down some. I planted Sharp dressed Man last year, so should see it this year, I also planted Tunnel Vision, a very dark plicata last year. Greg, I have Night games too, and like it. Keppel sure has some bright orange bearded iris.

It was originated at Malevil Iris Garden, I believe also in Texas. But I think someone said they are not going to be selling this year because of the drought. It's a border bearded, so not as expensive as the TB's.
