Yesterday my first Tall bearded iris opend, it's about 3 weeks earlier then most years. I should have a couple more in a few days, as it's supposed to be in the 80's for a couple days, of course the accompanying thunder storms are predicted, ugh.

Oh that's pretty. No TB open here yet - but Olympic Challenge I expect will open by the weekend, 4 weeks earlier than last year. I am also seeing a lot more scapes coming up over the last few days. I imagine the T-storms & warm temps will change this dramatically. ~Jan

Thanks Aruba, but I am not sure if this will be a good bloom year here or not. The iris near the house seem to have normal stalks, those farther out seem to be stunted some. They may not end up being very "tall" bearded. But I'll take what I get. I see that Mexican Holiday has a bloom this morning, but we have a big thunderstorm looming in the west, so we'll see what's left of it when it gets light out.

Raspberry Blush is an IB, but that doesn't look like it in that picture. Problem could be weather related.

Oh -- I LOVE *Fancy Dress*. Reminds me of *Inside Job*, which I have in my garden.

But I think *Fancy Dress* is darker -- will compare when I post this.

I also have Moonlit Water that is a luminata much like fancy dress, but blooms much later. It's a 2005 Keppel

The season in on it's way! That mini sure has brilliant color, very nice. The minies are like the opening act for the main feature!

Got a couple more to share, one is Harvest of Memories, it's a re-bloomer that makes it up here every few years when the fall is late. The other is a seedling that was a volunteer. It's pod parent was a black NOID iris, don't know who the pollen parent was, but I only had Liaison and the black one at the time, so it's either self fertilized, or by Liaison. I keep it because of the deep purple, and it has a really nice strong fragrance.
