Thought I would post a few from my garden that have started blooming. I missed a few FFO's as I was gone for most of this week as a chaperon for a school trip, we just got back at noon. The first thing I did was go out an take pictures (even before unpacking Rolling on the floor laughing )

The first one is a seedling that I bought that had bloomed once in the hybridizer's garden, but had not yet bloomed here. He sold it all to me as the parentage was unknown. I like it. Its not very big though.

Very nice! Isn't it fun to go out each day and see what is blooming. Sometimes they sneak up on you and you go WOW, I didn't know that was ready to bloom. Have fun.

I love it! It was difficult to leave the garden just when the buds were starting to open. I had had a few that tried to open earlier, but it was still too cold at night and they just could not do it right.

Here are a few more that were open today.

I think so. I did spray a few weeks ago, but it may have been too late.

Thanks for the comments.

I love seeing the layouts of your gardens. Looks to me like a lot of grass back there by the back fence though!!!

Whistling

BTW, the spotting / blotching on the flower look like rain/moisture spots to me. If a daylily prone to this starts to open in the middle of the night when we have humidity here, I see that look. I had to get rid of a beautiful daylily that did this too often.

And now another beauty is threatening to do it as well. Still have that one though as it did itself right last year!

Thanks guys. I like to take ones of the entire bed every once and a while to get the whole look. Those were all taken about 9:00 AM here today. The threatened rain held off though, it was just a few drops and then the clouds blew away. We have clear skies and lots of sun right now.

I do still have lots of grass, but I also have two very active kids who like to play in the yard, so I still need to keep the grass. There are also plans to put a pool in later. That was supposed to be last years project, then the economy went south Sad and disposable income dried up. Perhaps next year?

Everything is early this year, even my Ditch lilies.

Beautiful Laura!!! Sorry to say your pic of Golliwog isn't Golliwog. Golliwog is a peach self, no eye. Sure is lovely though and I sure would like to know what it is if you find out.

I think I have it identified:

Ledgewood's Calico Blues (Abajian, 2005)
height 27", bloom 3.75", season E, Rebloom, Semi-Evergreen, Diploid, 25 buds, 4 branches, Light cream with deep violet blue eye above green throat. (Crystal Blue Persuasion × Wildest Dreams)

It is one that I bought at the same time and they are planted almost right next to each other. Either I photographed the wrong tag when I took the picture (I always take one of the tag as well as the actual flower to help ID the photo) or the tags were rearranged at some point.

Haha about the unpacking. I have come back from a trip, run out into my garden and exclaimed, "Oh, I have missed it!" And my husband has said, "What about me??" My dogs would be barking wildly at the window, but, you know how it is...the daylilies call.

Lucky you to have Ledgewood's Calico Blues! I think it is harder to find that Golliwog (which I have). I saw LCB in Jule Covington's garden one year and thought it was so cute.

Thanks, Laura, for posting your pictures. It is very fun, almost like a little visit (grin). I hope you'll keep adding as it looks like there's much more to come. I remember when you were making those beds on DG...wow, they look fantastic! All your hard work has paid off.
