Would it also be a good idea to include the new name for the tall sedums in the forum title? Well at least until they change it again. Hilarious!

It is done Julia. Hurray!
Love those photos you posted. So encouraging to see the new growth. I won't be able to see mine until this weekend. It's dark when I get home. Sad
Days are getting longer though. Green Grin!

Some sedum have had a name change to:
1. Phedimus
2. Hylotelephium
3. Petrosedum
4. Valantia
5. Rhodiola

I hope I didn't miss any of the new names? I think you can still look them up as sedum, such as Sedum pachyclados.

Sure is. But you can still use the Database search engine and search with the word sedum, and they will still come up.

The Sedum pachyclados and it's hybrids are all Rhodiola pachyclados now. It will take me awhile to remember them. A very long while. Whistling

The lemon ball should come back from the roots in the spring. Mine did that last year but came back. Not a strong grower like Angelina. Beautiful bloom!!!!

And Julia, good to know that it will come back. I need to go look at mine and see if it melted. Blinking

I finally got some photos today. The dormant type sedum are coming out of dormancy. Hurray!

dasyphyllum major has been beautiful all winter.
Thumb of 2014-01-27/valleylynn/182c1e

This one is not the same as the S. 'Lemon Curl'. You can see this one does not go dormant, in fact it came through winter looking beautiful. Wonder if this is 'Lemon Ball'?
Thumb of 2014-01-27/valleylynn/f03704

And here is 'Lemon Curl' coming out of dormancy. Hurray! Hurray!

Sandy's Silver Crest needs a haircut, it won't be long before it starts putting out a bunch of new growth and making a nicely filled out clump.
Thumb of 2014-01-27/valleylynn/c2dc95

And here is my Silver Stone seedling from last year. It get the prettiest pale pom pom tips in the summer.
Thumb of 2014-01-27/valleylynn/c2bad5

Last but not least is this new for me last summer sedum with the name of 'Turquoise Tails'. I brought it home from New Mexico last June.
The 6°F temps we had last month didn't even faze it. I am in love with the sedum.

Oh, I almost forgot this one. The tag is missing. It is not Angelina or Lemon Ball. Very different from both, but also evergreen and tough.
Anybody recognize it? Very colorful.

Lynn, what about sedum japonicum? 'Turquoise Tails' is beautiful, very unusual and Blue Pearl is growing nicely.
