Oh! You guys are getting me so excited!! I have two big orders coming and the first should be arriving in a couple of weeks. Hurray! I still have a few things to do to get ready but I am Soooo Excited as these are really my first Daylilies! Both orders are decent size (or I think so). I don't know how many actual blooms I will see this year but I can hardly stand to wait just to have them here and in the beds starting to grow. Lovey dubby

@Gerry Do you soak them in just water or use Miracle Gro Quick Start also?

I just soak them overnight, and after planting or potting, I water.

Okay, Thanks! I was just curious as I have seen some bad things about using the Quick Start. Those are some Big, Nice Fans you got there! Thumbs up I apologize, I am trying to catch up. What state did you order from? I have a couple orders coming. I tried to order from growers that were in states close to mine as I am hoping any ever-greens and semi ever-greens will do okay for me that way also.

Cat, what part of Indiana are you in?

My order from the Jeffocoats arrived this afternoon. It was small though especially relative to Gerry's load above!

Gosh I hope I don't get any daylily deliveries yet. Mid May is what I would want because I have not gotten all of my clean up done yet because the weather just hasn't cooperated.

I requested mine early because after potting, they will go in the greenhouse until late May. This is the time to have early delivery.

I am almost finished potting the ones from Ludlow.

Only one was a single fan, but it was very large and required a very large pot.

All the others were double and tripple fans. I was most surprised because these are all new introductions. In one case, they sent me two separate fans. I did divide them, potted and placed in the greenhouse.

I noticed that a few have very young scapes.

I am excited!

@ James. I live in Indianapolis, IN. My first order should be shipped on or after 4/25. That order is coming from Michigan. Figured with shipping , it should take a couple of days or so and then it will be right at the first of May by the time they arrive.

Cat, I live near Angola, and I am still learning, and learning fast, about acclimating daylilies. Last fall I planted 165 double fans, that arrived from California, without dividing them, fed and watered them well. In November I covered them with mulched leaves and pine needles. Since the heavy snow fall, they were covered with over two feet of snow and ice until late March. They all survived.

Cat, do you belong to either of the Indy daylily societies?

Gerry,

I am planning on joining IDIS. I was hoping to make it to the meeting the first of April but something came up last minute and I was unable to go. I am really hoping to go to the one for May! I did print the mail in form but just haven't sent it yet hoping to just join when I attend a meeting. I did already join AHS a couple of months ago.

I just joined IDIS last month when Bill Maryott presented.

Tom Polston will present in May and I will be there. We must meet.
