I don't know how many people here are familiar with Melva. She mostly posts on the Roses Forum, but she hasn't been active in recent months. I don't know her all that well myself, but I've been in contact with her for a long time and we're friends on Facebook. She just posted this morning that Phil had a heart attack and passed away just a bit ago. So, I thought anyone here who knows her would want to know.

Oh, no! I hope Melva will be okay...

That's very sad. She relied on Phil for so much. I hope she'll be okay.

Oooh.. poor Melva... poor poor girl.. she's a sweetheart and I hope that she has others there that can help in this horrible time.

Oh that is so sad. Always so difficult loosing a loved one, especially so unexpectedly.

From what she has posted on FB, it sounds like she is very much on her own. A friend was with her for a while, but had to leave. She said "It's just me and the cat now." Breaks my heart.

Please let her know that the ATP rose gang sends condolences, Woofie, and would love to hear from her. We appreciated her input when she was here and in the Rose Cubit, and we've missed her since she's been gone.

Oh, Melva. I'm glad you're here. We feel so bad for you. How's your own health these days?

Not real good I have diabetes and not really very mobile...Phil and I and I were both working on losing weight he had lost 50 pounds and me about 30...see what good it did him!

That's so unfair! Poor guy. Don't let it deter you from continuing to work on your own weight, though. Thirty pounds is such a great start that it would be a shame to stop now. You have to regain some mobility. Phil was your whole family, so I know how hard it will be for you to cope with everything on your own.

Do you still have your sweet lilac point Siamese? I lost both of mine years ago. I really miss them. It's such a special breed -- the puppy dog of the cat world. The cats I have now don't take walks with me the way Snowball and Vanilla did. They follow me for a little while and then rush back home for some food and a nap.

Hello, Melva! I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am glad you are back here; I hope we can help in some way. I think about you every time I look at your roses flourishing at my farm. Please stay with us.

Just recently went through a scare with my DH. I've had a fleeting glimpse of what Melva must be going through.

Here I am, not sure exactly how I did the log in thing maybe Dave set it to respond to my name, who knows?
Things are still dreadful and at times worse than that...I am having intermittant panic attacks, and I have been doing a lot of yelling, at Phil, at God...and just the universe in general. Phil and I, were pretty self-contained so this has been a very wrenching feeling, I hate it!
Zuzu, The cat, Corky...is a flame point Siamese mix, never had a Lilac-point..although I think they are gorgeous. One good thing, I can get more cats..and yea! now I can have a litter box in the house! (I could have had one before but Phil didn't want one)
Anyway, I still have Corky, hehas become a beautiful cat...don't ask for pictures..that was something I did with much assistance from Phil so I am not going to be doing that for a while.

Aaak. Panic attacks are awful! Back in the dark ages when I was young and living alone, I would get them. And this was before the medical profession recognized them I was terrified and the doctors just thought I was a hypochondriac. Is there someone you can call and just talk to when they hit?
