It's pretty easy to find now. This is the second full summer it will be in my gardens. It's getting some size to it, but as you can see, the recent weather has been hard on her. I expect her to bounce back without a problem.

I also have 'Empress Wu' and it is the second season. She is still one eye but quite a bit larger than last year.

I realize this is an old thread, but is there also a hosta named Princess Wu, or are some people confusing that with Empress?

Never heard of Princess Wu. Confused Is it smaller? I see it does exist but I cannot find any pictures. Sad

Someone just asked a question about it on DG and I also googled it. Not a lot there. But I found a reference to a "truly large hosta". A search at myhostas.be did not bring it up.

It DID bring up:
Blue Wu Jim King 2010 'Skylight' x 'Empress Wu' View Details
Empress Wu Brian & Virginia Skaggs 2008 'Big John' hybrid View Details
Empress Wu streaked 'Empress Wu' sport View Details
Princess WuWu Linda Port & Linda Cunningham 'Empress Wu' seedling View Details
Xanadu Empress Wu

But I think this one may also be 'Xanadu Princess Wu'. At least I found a reference to that as well.

They have Empress Wu here at a local nursery but the only thing to me that it has going for it is eventual large size. I don't have room.

Interesting. Thanks, Ann.

I have a couple of Empress Wu I bought just because of the size. I love the big ones, and I do have room.

Ann, I think you are right about the 'Xanadu Princess Wu'. Thumbs up

But to confuse things, I think Empress Wu was first named Xanadu Empress Wu.

The only place i could find "Princess Wu" was on Hostasdirect... no photo, no details... I found a thread on a Kio forum [yes, fish] where a gal from PA got one from them 2 yrs ago.

also did find what Ann did about E. WU being in the Xanadu series, and the name was shortened for "marketability" reasons.

this time i wont post the wrong image.... *wink*

**edited to add....

seems the P. Wu is also in the Xanadu series....
