Jon - I like the coloring on your Trahlyta X ??? The orange is different than what I have been able to get from it!

Pam - Your Feeling Thorny sdlg should stabilize eventually. Look at all those teeth!!!! Wow!

Ashton - I can't wait to see your first seedling bloom! I, too, am trying to get a red with a pattern. Fingers crossed that you get a nice RED cross!

I got a few more seedlings today. This one has such a unique bloom color. I was quite taken with this bloom. This came from a LA seed win from Karen Michaels at Daredevil Daylilies. This is a cross of Heart Exhibit x Judy Jungle Cat (one of her new intros):

CCC31 - Stats 7" bloom, 14" scape, and only 3 buds. The fan is really small. Give it another year and I hope it gets much bigger with more scapes and blooms. It has a dormant parent, so I hope it survives here. I really love the color and the spider form! Rust rating right now is between a 2 and 3.

Thumb of 2015-05-02/beckygardener/73f8f9

This next one is from Sandi ( @Seedsower ). CCC32 - Face the Stars x unknown. Stats are 5" bloom, 16" scape, and 5 buds.

It didn't open up right away early this morning, so I couldn't get a very good photo of it until late in the day. The color is faded by that time, but it opened up nicely and is a pretty bloom. Rust rating 2 or 3. :

Thumb of 2015-05-02/beckygardener/aaf8b5

I got some seeds from a seller several years ago on ebay. (no cross names.) Many of the seedlings are producing some really pretty red blooms. It's amazing to me all the different ways a deep red can look on a daylily bloom. I tried to get some close-ups of the diamond dusting on the thin, light yellow border, but couldn't capture that unique quality. It almost looks like gold dusting. Really neat looking. Looks like it is exhibiting molten liquid gold. I can't quite describe it correctly. I sure wished my camera had picked up how it looked.

CCC33 Stats: 6" bloom, 23" scape, and 7 buds. The downside of this one is the rust rating is between a 3 and 4. But I really liked the look and color of this one and used the pollen to dab around on other blooms. One never knows what you might be able to create by doing that!

Its very large and makes me giggle. First time Ive ever been able to get away from the browns with Tusk. This one makes pretty small fans as well, but probably always will. I care not Big Grin Its got a home.

This camera phone is history for daylilies, drives me nuts you cant get the definition.

Fred - Lovely blooms ... I really like that second photo bloom! MOST IMPRESSIVE!!! Lovey dubby

Pam - Ooooh! Nice one! Quite attractive bloom! Thumbs up

CCC34: Unknown parentage. 3 1/2" bloom, 13" scape, and 6 buds. Displaying diamond dusting and golden shine along border. Rust rating is 1. Small, but sweet bloom. An interesting mini-bloom.

Hopefully you can see the diamond dusting on the petals as well as the glittering gold on the border. Really interesting how this looks. I am surprised to see this on a few of my seedlings.

Is the golden glitter on the border part of the diamond dusting? I had not noticed it until this year's blooms.

Thumb of 2015-05-02/beckygardener/4b0941

Another red bloomer. CCC35: 4 1/2" bloom, 19" scape, 8 buds. Rust rating 1.

Thumb of 2015-05-02/beckygardener/ea6b9c

There were a few others, but nothing that stood out.

Something that is almost exciting as seeing blooms is seeing seed pods. Even hand-pollinating late in the day has yielded quite a lot of pods on most all the seedlings. There are a handful that do not seem to be pod fertile, but their pollen appears to be fertile so not a total concern. That is always a BIG plus with blooms to have successful pollination! Big Grin I've been marking the crosses with colored paper clips. I just hope the paper clips colors don't completely wash out before the seeds can be collected.

Wonderful seedlings, everyone! And Fred, I particularly love that last seedling with its deeper colored sepals -- WOW! I'm assuming the 3.5" size is meant for the COFFEE TO GO seedling, and are the blooms in that picture a larger size?

Here are three from the last couple of days:

SOUTHWESTERN MEMORIES X RIO FIESTA

PRECIOUS CANDY X XYLOPHONE JAZZ

BROADWAY PLAYER X I REMEMBER YOU (bloom around 4" and curved under so it seems smaller -- and of course the bloom was actually darker but my camera doesn't pick that up)

Im still having trouble with blooms opening in the cool, but here is one I like blooming again today. The second picture is one yesterday in the afternoon after things warm up.

Can you guess its parentage ... ______ x Pirates of Penzance

Thanks..its Solar Angel as the Momma. I thought for sure it was my Dragonfly Dawn sdlg., and got so thrown off Confused . I knew that did not have any Kissed in the Dark in it. Anyway... I dig down and find my wires and it turns out that it is Solar Angel x Pirates of Penzance. If I was up on my bloodlines, I would have known that Solar Angel is Dragonfly Dawns Momma....so it all makes sense now. nodding

Betty - Ooooh! I like your SOUTHWESTERN MEMORIES X RIO FIESTA seedling bloom! Love those orange colors and ruffles! The other two are nice as well, but that orange bloom sure jumps out at ya! Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

Pam - Me, too! I thought it was DD as well, so I am not surprised at DD's pod parent which is also the pod parent of your seedling. It sure turned out to be a beauty! Thumbs up BTW - Your foliage sure looks good as well for growing in FL!

Betty, sorry for the size confusion, but anytime the size is on the photo is referring to photo itself and not the parents. Very nice seedlings, really like the first one.

It's been in the 40s here in the AM so the same problem as Pam. Really nice Pam, I think Dragonfly Dawn and Waves of Joy have made more nice babies than any parents in recent years. Most here are not registration quality but visitors love them.

The old timers say peak bloom is early this year.
Many of my seedlings have bloomed and some tried to bloom so early that frost got the scapes.
