Hello all,

I snapped this at the botanic gardens. I would love to know what it is so I can grow it.

Thank you!

I'm thinking Viburnum lantana (or possibly another similar species. I'm not up-to-date on all the Viburnum species. Hilarious! )
If you have a pic that shows a full leaf that might help to nail down the species.

You, Danita are incredible. That's two for two you helped me with! Thank you! This is indeed Viburnum Lantana and as luck would have it my local nursery has it in stock! Off to do some shopping later!

Thank you! You are an amazing asset to the All Things Plants community. :)

Wishing you the very best of days.

Take care!

Awww, thanks, Benny & Lin! You're making me blush... *Blush*

Really though, I enjoy helping out and honing my ID skills at the same time. Smiling

I love being part of the ATP community and am likewise appreciative of all the generous, knowledgeable and friendly people that make up our wonderful, online garden party!

Now, the really important question is....
Were you able to successfully acquire that new Viburnum at the nursery? Hilarious!

Hi there Danita!

YES! Smiling Hurray!

I took the trip down to my local nursery. Well first, I went to the next town over, had lunch and then dropped in. I got a couple of them as anchor plants for the front yard. I will post photos tomorrow. :)

I am very thankful for all your help. I have more seedling pics I need to post over the coming days as well. I am a very liberal gardener as in I sometimes find old seed packets and then broadcast them all around. I do this a lot. When they come up however, I am very curious... what are they! Smiling

Hi there Danita,

It is very wonderful. Smiling Thank you so kindly!

I am indeed. I also have stories ever present in my garden. Priscilla hollyhocks, saved flowers from old farm sites and the list goes on and on.

I am going to get photos up soon!

It does look like a viburnum, but V. lantana has rough, hair leaves and downy leaf stems. The plant in question seems to have shiny leaves? There are viburnums with shiny leaves....

Hi there Leftwood,

That could be my post processing that did that. I applied a global smoothing over it to make it 'pop'. I did confirm though when I was at the gardens this weekend that this is indeed the plant and I do have photos of my new plants but need to upload them. :)

Hi there Catmint,

It is indeed very pretty and at 8' x 8', my two are going to provide nice anchors for the garden.
