Growing in my 'meadow-lawn'. Does it look familiar to anyone?

Reminds me of Vinca (Catharanthus roseus)

edited to add: That was just a guess on my part and I see that Catharanthus roseus doesn't grow that far north so I don't know what it might be.

thanks, Lin. Now I am imagining a landscape where vinca and tropicals are hardy! Sighing!

Are the leaves opposite or alternate. And they look serrated. Are they?

Reminds me of Euonymus of some sort but I'm no expert. I do have wintercreeper but no burning bushes.

They are definitely serrated! Opposite v alternate--I haven't quite figured out how to distinguish that yet. *Blush*
Here's a close-up:

Euonymous--that would be cool! Thumbs up

LOL, now that I see the closeup I know it's definitely not Catharanthus. Green Grin! It might be Wintercreeper/Eyonymus: http://www.mdinvasivesp.org/sp...

A simplified version of opposite vs alternate.

thanks, Celia--great link! Thumbs up I guess it is alternate then?
Lin, thanks for the links! Thumbs up I had no idea euonymus was invasive! I guess there are different varieties. I don't think that's it, though, thank goodness, as it is growing straight up, and is not vine-like.

Well, even though it doesn't look vine-like I guess it's probably euonymous! Will need to pull it up....
