We love to talk about all aspects of weather, the effect on our gardens, and on our lives. It's a good place to keep a record of weather in our gardens from year to year too, so for that reason let's stay as close to the topic as we can. Please join us and tell us about your weather.

What a change in the weather over the past week. Last week in Vermont we had high temps in the low 90's. This week we are more seasonal with night temps in the upper 30's to low 40's and the high in the 60's. ..Fall, a time of gathering crops and filling the woodshed for the coming winter, cool, crisp mornings, the honking of geese as they move southward and mountains ablaze with color.

What's fall? They are calling for a high of 93F. Summer here is dragging by.

Summer sure did not fly by here, Rita. Whistling

Love the fall photo Char.

Our temps are heading back up as well Kelli! The beautiful cooling rains are finished and we are all sun today.

It wasn't exactly a fall day here, but the temps started out at 75, which was good enough for us to go out once more. The yard waste is ready to go out tomorrow and there are two garbage cans really packed plus one large tub also packed. We worked for three and a half hours this morning and I am feeling pretty happy about what we got accomplished. Big Grin

Glad you liked the image...I had to hunt through some previous years folders to find one. With the heat of the past few weeks our leaves haven't even started to change yet. The cooler temps this week sure do make working outside more pleasant, even though the fog is hanging around until almost noon making everything stay wet with dew. I wouldn't be able to take the hot temps you all have been talking about this summer, when it gets above 70...I'm looking for shade.

I agree it's a gorgeous photo Char. Too bad it doesn't yet look like that where you are yet. I can't believe you had highs in the 90's! Blinking Blinking

No summer flying by here either Rita. Jean tells what she & her dh did today & let me tell you it was PLENTY. The temps. began low enough & topped out in the low 80's here but that old humidity sure has been our cross to bear this summer & it hasn't changed this 1st day of fall either. I was standing in the shade of the carport @ 4 this afternoon with a very light t-short on & in 10 minutes my t-shirt was limp. Thumbs down Thumbs down

Beautiful here in the Sangre de Christos foothills. The aspen are turning golden on the high mountain tops. Chamisa covers the plateau with a bright yellow brush balanced by the purples of wild asters and the occasional sky blue chicory.

We got a nice rain this evening with a high today of a sunny 65 and a low tonight of a brisk 44. Windows open and blankets on we will sleep well. High tomorrow of 77 and a low of 41. We will listen to our neighborhood's great horned owl and the dozens of coyotes inhabiting the hills and the pueblo land just south of us.

St. Geronimo day is next week. We are invited to the Taos pueblo for games and food and silliness from the Koshares, sacred clowns who may dump you in the river or take a bite of your fry bread. Most of the homes are open and if you venture into one you are fed, maybe elk or chicos or corn bread.

The wool festival is the week after.

Rebloom scapes on JUST JESSIE and MOON OVER MONTERY along with a single new scape on BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS promise a slow sweet release from bloom season and the buffalos on the pueblo are growing thick coats just in case winter comes.

The weather is delicious.

@Charlemagne I agree with @flaflwrgrl That is one beautiful shot. Ann, I love your new avatar. School picture????

It was in the low 80s here today but really humid. I spent the morning taking care of compost, feeding the citrus and used up all of my alfalfa pellets on some daylilies. I can finally see them in the garden now. That was the last of my "to do" list for here so DH took me to lunch at Firehouse Subs. The next two days will be spent gathering up everything we have to take back to AR, where they STILL HAVEN'T HAD ANY RAIN! Perhaps we will be able to have some of the moisture down here follow us home .

@rocklady Yes, Jean, I was about 7 there. I recall that dress so well. One of my favorites. It was beige & that rick rack was red, red around the neck & arms. You can just see the top of what was a green rick rack stem with leaves that ended with a large appliqué strawberry. I loved strawberries!

They are calling for a high of 100F. It's got to get things good and dried out for fire season. Pardon the sarcasm but you'd be tired of 100s, too.

That sucks Kelli, I would definitely be tired of it too! Thumbs down It's 46F degrees here and we had rain overnight, more showers predicted for this morning.
