Lets devote this thread to photos of our Pacific Series of sempervivum.

I love this Pacific Devil's Food. It took quite awhile to get going, but once it did it seems to produce a fair amount of offsets.

Here is a list of the Pacific Series that I've compiled based on Internet sources. I'll edit or update as more information becomes available. Credit goes to Don at SMG for helping me clean the list up and for some comments that helped fix some names. Many additional thanks to those that helped expand my collection. I'll gladly share those that I have when numbers are large enough to do so, but in the meantime, SMG appears to always be offering them when they have enough. Please support SMG for keeping this series available to us. thanks to GG for creating these fine plants.

Please keep this thread for discussion and pictures of the Pacific series. I'll post pics as I can.

I see a few that I don't have yet. Many of mine are still small but the collection itself is growing. I was surprised to see so many represented here, but then again, only people with good taste will become members here. Am I not correct?

Love that Pacific Daemon color. Lynn, my P Country Cousins is showing a lot more color than your pic shows. Must be the climate. I will get pics going one of these days.

I've been on overload all summer. I had an interview for a job last week that just might work out. I spend an hour with the plants each morning, mostly weeding, but occasionally upsizing a pot or doing rescue work. It's helping to keep me balanced. Have blueberries and gooseberries under netting that I need to get picked in the next few days. I think they will go in the freezer this year.

Twit, it is very wet and cool here right now, we won't have the color you have right now for quite awhile yet.

Daemon is quite striking in it's color Janice. Lovey dubby

Hang in there twit, things will get better. Hope the job works out. Let us know when you get the good news. The garden really is a healing place for many of us.
I actually have my very first gooseberries this year. Can't wait for them to ripen so I can eat them. Just one lone bush in my woodland with maybe a handful of berries on it. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. That reminds me, I better get my bird netting out or I won't be the one to eat them. How will I know when they are close to getting ripe?

Depends on the variety of gb. Do you know? Was it from me?

If you feel the berry, it will be very hard if it is not ripe/ready. They ripen over an extended period of time, so when there is some "give" to the berry, it is edible, likely tart, until it fully ripens. At that stage, you can eat them and many people harvest for cooking. When perfectly ripe, the berries will fall into your hand when you touch them, but at that stage its easy to lose the crop with mistiming. Like semps, appearance will depend somewhat on environment. Takes some sun to make the berries color up.

Oh, mine is a big one! Here's a pic from 2011. The offsets are now mature and it is in an 8" pot. The pot here is 4", so the plant is already about 5".

Which one is that twit?

Pia, I wouldn't sell you any, but I would sure send you some if it weren't so expensive for the phyto cert. and postage. You really can get some amazing semps from Fernwood, and it wouldn't cost you very much.
When you see one here that you would like just keep a record or list of what you would order from them. If they don't have photos for the ones your interested in you can look them up here in our database. Thumbs up

Lynn, edited the post to include the name - sorry I forgot. It was Pacific Country Cousins, the one that is staying small for you. It may be my biggest Pacific series except for Pacific Blazing Star. Hard to tell for sure as so many are in the last year or two of arriving. Need more time to grow them out to full size.

Mine are still small plants, but I only got them last summer as small offsets, so not sure what their mature size will be. Wow, love the color it will get twit.
I added your photo to the database twit. It is lovely.

Sorry the offsets were small. It seems to grow slowly for me but I like the color as well. Because I grow in pots, it can be hard to properly place the large ones.

You might want to make sure that Pacific Blazing Star gets lots of room. The rosettes get over 8" and it reproduces rapidly as well. I've been working on what to do with it. Moved some to a trough but the main box is falling apart. This is a recent pic, its faded a bit at the moment and this is after thinning this spring. That was a 10" x 12" box that you can't see.

I am finding the same results with Pacific Blazing Star. I really need to get mine thinned out again. It grows like crazy.
This is Pacific Blazing Star in March 2012. I really need to get a current photo of it. It is way out of control now.
