Thread OP

I can't find these seeds anywhere! Can you help? I'm looking for what is called a stemless evening primrose or Oenothera Triloba. It is an amazing dandelion looking plant who's yellow flowers open at sunset right before your very eyes.

Hello lynmree,

I do have this plant, but it will take some time to set seed here. It will be late autumn. I will contact you if the seeds are ripe.
Do you have anything to trade for?

Kind regards,

Jonna

I will have hundreds of these seeds in early spring. They take over my yard every year (happily!) and I will be happy to share for postage.

I have been searching everywhere for these lil beauties. I took seeds from my plants when I moved, had the seedlings thriving, and then became victims of chicken sabotage. I was hooked on these as a small child at my grandparents house. If you still have them I'd be more than willing to pay for them. I don't have anything to swap as I am establishing my transplants, and new gardens.

Nerfy,

My garden is still covered with snow, so I can't look for the seeds. We have the longest and coldest winter ever.
Will let you know if I can collect seeds.

Not seeds, and not really cheap, but appear to be available here:

They just got done blooming here a couple of weeks ago. The seeds should be just about ripe if you are still interested?

Just an FYI I have been searching everywhere for this plant. I had some at one point. Anyway if anyone has any seeds I would be extremely grateful and will pay whatever price. My mother use to sit with my children and watch them bloom. She is gone now and I would love to be able to have some for them.

I also ordered what I thought were these plants from the web site mentioned above. Www.quick-growing-trees. The cost was a bit on the high side but I didn't mind. They arrived today and they are the regular primrose tall plants.

The green house is in TN I am in MI. I was offered an in store credit with the return of the plants. So if you are looking for the small stemless (dandelion looking) primrose do not order from them.

If anyone can send me some seeds I would be so extremely grateful! Thank you!

Marshadow, I normally have a lot of these in early spring and the seeds take a few weeks to mature so by mid-April they have almost all bloomed and gone.

I did have one last plant (that I couldn't find in the jungle of our yard until DH mowed this past weekend) that is getting sent to Nerfy.

I will let you know if I find any stragglers in my yard wanderings, but I'm surprised I found this last one!

Nerfy, I am sorry for the delay, but your seeds (and attached plant!) are on their way today. Smiling

I am also looking for this seed. I live up here in Michigan. My Oenothera Triloba's made it through every winter for the past 17 years. Then my daughter decided to surprise me by pulling out all the "weeds" :(

I had one survive, but it didn't re-seed. Lost them all. I always enjoyed coming past them walking up to the front door where I was welcomed by the evening flowers.

I will be happy to pay or send a SASE if anyone has some.
Thanks so much!
Bob.

Hi Evelyn Smiling

My plant blooms too late to set seed I think. Every year I have a lot of blooms, but the seeds on the pots do not ripen before our garden is covered with snow and after the snow I never found a seedpot.

I originally bought my Oenothera Triloba (Stemless Evening Primrose) seeds from hardyplants. com.

Hello, I too am looking for 'Oenothera triloba' seeds or plants. I use to have one and would sit with my children to watch them open. With the internet I was finally able to research and find out what they were called. Now I am on a mission.
Francinef Hardy plants is all sold out..
