I was so lucky when I was a kid! My aunt & uncle owned a dairy farm. It had been in my uncle's family forever, and they didn't have dairy cows, but the dairy down the road leased their barns and pastures from them. One pasture was the calving pasture (saw LOTS of babies being born!), and one of the barns was the calf barn. They'd bring milk several times a day, and us girls got to feed the babies. It was the sweetest thing ever! And the second you weren't paying attention, you'd have a little calf sucking on your hand! So, I've been covered in calf slobber! The dairy cows would slobber all over us too when we'd go help round them up for milking in the morning. They were very friendly cows!
