It is hot here also Greg. But sure got a lot done out in the garden.
Tomatoes are in, dill and nasturtium seeds planted. They may be coming up when I get home in two weeks.
Got a bunch more plants in the ground and the sprinkler is going now. Next week the weather cools back down to normal type May weather.

We packed up Angelina, oreganum, divergen to take to NM for Denice to try. Sure hope they do okay for her. Also took a selection of semps for her to try.
All of these root easily, but will probably need shade in the afternoon?

What's Denice's altitude in NM?

In 2005, I lived in SFe, where it was 7000 ft in altitude. That meant more intense sun exposure to my semps. And so it was shade cloth for the semps. Here's what DH rigged up for me to keep rodents and sun away from the semps in their flats (and using water barrels In a different way...):

Semp flats up on rain barrels but covered with shade cloth that was stretch over PVC pipe frames on hinges to lift and lower.

She is at about 3900 ft. She has an area that gets some morning sun and filtered light the rest of the day. We are hoping that will work.

Bev I love the shade cloth!!
Lynn I bet that's going to be perfect! I'm thinking that sedum rupestre (of which Angelina is one) will do well in pretty much any environment! I love plants that are "easy to grow" and sprout readily, so you can increase stock!!
Your plant list that you're bringing to her sounds really nice!! Hurray!

Well Greg, you can always move to Wisconsin - we've got less heat! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Nice set up with the shade cloth cover Bev! I've been planning on making something like that with chicken wire to keep the rabbits out in winter.

I arrived in NM last night Bev. The sunset was amazing.

After looking at the site we will be planting in, I think the surrounding trees will give just the right amount of filtered light for the sedum and semps. Hurray!

We are headed out to the nurseries today, to pick up some delosperma, tomato plants, and one jasmine plant. And any interesting sedum we might see. Taking the camera along. Will watch for some interesting containers also.

I did get a photo of the sunset. Will try to post photos later tonight, or tomorrow morning.
Hugs to you all.

My sedum 'John Creech & 'sarmentosum' are blooming the 'JC' have pretty pink blooms and my clump stump of sarmentosum is a very pretty yellow now!! Blue spruce & Angelina are doing great. When do they bloom, this is the first season of having them in my bed. Will take pic.'s ASAP.
