Greg that is a semp lovers dream. Oh the pictures in my head. What kind of trees are those? They won't cast to much shade on the semps will they?
I mostly have sedum that I've planted there, and yes they get very dense in summer. There is a pear, and then some other deciduous trees (can't remember what they are now) so it does get shady, but I think it'll be okay, we'll see, may have to trim the trees up too!
Here is a sedum lawn I walked by today...its all low growing and compact, I'm thinking it was purchased as an already grown mat or something, quite pretty!
You can't tell but the yard was probably 20x15 or something - and it looked really nice! (I can't imagine walking on it though - so weeding would be challenging, hanging from a tree by a climbing rope or something!)
Wow, Greg, just saw the slope you cleared of weeds and bushes. Is that your place or outside your apt? Do you have free rein to do whatever? I can see you having a lot of fun with that. And the rocks were already there?...no pulling them out of a pickup truck and doing days of placement to get it just right? Lucky You!
Yes the current building manager knows almost nothing about gardening, landscaping etc so he totally appreciates my help!! And it is going to be fun this spring and summer filling this space up!
My new sedum came from SMG. Oh my, I just love it. S. monregalense.
