I visited the Centennial Park Conservatory today and snapped some quick photos as I looped through it. It's in Etobicoke (Toronto) in Ontario, Canada and is open 365 days a year from 10am to 5pm. Admission and parking are free. The conservatory is over 12,000 square feet and has 3 sections: tropical, arid, and seasonal/show.

I'll start with the arid section as that's when I started taking photos of more than single plants at a time, though there will be plenty of those below!

Many labels seemed to be incorrect when I got home and started looking them up which was disappointing. I couldn't find many to begin with and the ones I did find were often propped up on a plant or just resting on the soil, rather than on a stake, so I guess they've been mixed up over time. This label was propped in front of this cactus... but doesn't appear to be a match. Maybe it was meant to be more of a tombstone marker!

They used a lot of Kalanchoe for colour in the arid section. I recently lost mine to spider mites and think I'll have to buy another. So cheery and easy to care for!

An adorable "tree".

The arid section was really lovely and showed off a nice variety of plants.

Time for dinner, so that's all for now. I will add some photos from the other sections later this evening.

That 'tree' is exceptional.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

I'm happy to share them!

The tropical section was busier as it's where the entrance/exit doors are and it had a few families milling about as well. There were birds (caged) and a small pond with fish and turtles that I think drew the kiddos repeatedly back to that area. I didn't get so many great photos here or in the seasonal section, but both were lovely as well. There was classical music playing everywhere and it was a very relaxing atmosphere.

Angel, the pretty bird giving me "the eye" below, ignored me on the way in and refused to greet me with a hello, but when I returned a bit later he made sure to greet me twice and then according to the information sheet about him... he probably swore at me in another language. Hilarious!

The seasonal/show section had cheery spring bulbs on display--a welcome sight as we still have some snow on the ground.
