Teresa, I use both E6000 and lately I have started using Permatex Clear RTV Silicone Adhesive. You find it in the automotive dept. I was talking to a vendor at a local flower show that was selling them and she said that was what she was using and it was less expensive as the E6000 and works great.
Have you thought of painting a votive cup to get the yellow color you are looking for? I have painted some of my plates and they are still looking good. I paint the back of my plates to get a bit of extra color. You could try just painting the inside of the votive cup and see what kind of a look it gives you.

Oh, wow, I sure do like that temperature range. Think I will try it for the clear to use outside and get the clear E6000 for interior stuff. Have had all kinds of things stockpiled to work on once my house was empty again...and it's now empty again.

Holly, painting would be faster than searching yard sales and the flea market. What are you using to paint them? Acrylics?

I bought paint especially for painting on glass. Easily found at the craft store. The one type said to bake the glassware at 350* for 30 min after you painted it.

I bought some also at Michael's. All the yellow candle cups I have found were painted and easily scratched off so you will be better off doing it yourself.

I don't drive any more or have regular transportation, so a lot of what I want is ordered online. Bought some of Holly's recommended Permatex Clear RTV Silicone Adhesive and I gotta give a plug for this vendor:

I ordered two 3-ounce tubes at $3.27 each, with $5.00 shipping, plus tax. Total was less than $13. The recommendation comes because, not only did they have good prices and a great ship cost, I placed the order yesterday and it was delivered today. Box had a Return Form, too, in case it was needed.

Last month I bought 20 tubes of E-6000 and I am now down to 2 tubes. I think I need to slow down.

I think I've got the bug. I will definitely be looking for the right glue. I live in a place where there isn't a lot of shopping choices, so mail order would be good.

Mix, here, of E6000 and the automotive adhesive. Will see if there is any long-term difference.

Do you have it mounted on pvc pipe, Debra?

No, it is some kind of hollow lightweight metal pole. Was about four foot long and an inch in diameter. Bent it in the middle intending to fold back and forth until there were two pieces, but the first time was the charm. Flattened about three inches of the broken end with pliers to make more contact surface for the plate. Dunno where it came from, I just seem to accumulate that kind of stuff.
