I saw a commercial this evening with a cool flower tower idea and found the video tutorial on the HD website. Think I am going to try one!

And maybe even in a smaller scale, and also other plants, like semps! So many possibilities!

I love it. I just pictured a tower of nasturtiums. I love that plant, and it would be so pretty done in a tower like that.
Thanks Sue.

Lynn I like the idea of nasturtiums - or using foliage plants rather than flowering plants!! I tip my hat to you.

Lynn, this was very close to my idea of a square made from "hardware cloth" (this idea is way easier, because they use a pot as the base, and those "ties" what a cool idea to use those things!!! (guess what my next hardware store purchase is going to be!) Whistling Hilarious!

How many plants total for one do you estimate it would take? Wish I would have started more petunias now! Hilarious!

I think depending on what you plant, it'll fill in pretty quickly! (Also you could change the height so its less tall) I tip my hat to you.

This caught my eye too!! When I saw it, the first thing I thought of, and what is still on my mind, is to use that for house plant type vines. Like Syngonium, Epipremnum (Pothos,) Philodendron, and anything with aerial roots. The top would dry out much more quickly, so something like a jade at the top might look interesting. One could add various holiday cacti, various epiphytes, creepers to flow over the sides like Callisia, Tradescantias, Commelina, maybe even some Echeverias or other little succulents toward the top.

This should last for years before repotting was necessary, and possibly allow some vines to be able to make mature leaf forms, a novelty rarely achieved for most vines "in captivity." It would also allow one to have a huge number and mass of plants in a very small footprint of space. It could be as tall as your doorframe/ceiling/budget would allow. The actual tower part could be as skinny or fat as one wanted, filled with possibly different layers of "stuff" if needed to accommodate the different types of plants.

I need to finish some other things I've started for Mother's Day, but am anxious to get started on one of these. Probably best to kick the idea around for a longer time anyway, let the ideas mature...
