A stem of 'Rare Edition' is showing off. About 6 stems of plicata 'Carriwitched makes a great clump. Our daughter in Ohio enjoys 'Hot Fudge' which we sent a few years ago.

That seedling looks like a winner to me, Paul, I'd like to see a picture after it relaxes some. I'm guessing you crossed either Gitano, or Gypsy Lord to something to get that????

If I had good legs I would be as good as I was at 40. More land? I can't take care of what I have. Shrug! Shrug! Shrug! I should be thinking about downsizing Shrug! Shrug! Shrug!

But what a nice legacy to leave for the next generation of iris lovers. You don't have to go hog wild building a company, but you could find someone who would propagate and introduce your good ones.

You know Paul, when we decided to build our new building( small house, inside a BIG, RV garage), we called it "down-sizing" , but ended up with a larger lot, in order to accomedate the larger building, with 2-sided access. Then we bought MORE ground! What the heck, with a low maintainence house and building, lets spend our "extra"time doing what we love, Right?! I'm too fat, too old, and too limited by arthritis, 2 back sugeries, shot-up legs, bad knees, and all the rest, to be doing all the stuff I want to do, but , by golly, I'm gonna' give it my best shot! Most of us have waited a looong time, to" retire, and do what we want", so jump right in and do it! The work, both physical AND mental, is what keeps you young! you obviously have a talent for, and a love for ,hybridizing Why not go for it!.....Arlyn

I believe that's true Arlyn -- maintaining physical activity keeps us physically young (or at least able) and doing what we love keeps us mentally young. The *oldest* people that I know just sit around and do nothing -- and they've been old since they were young.

That's a really good looking seedling Paul. Have you thought about sending rhizomes of it to the Greater Portland Iris Society this fall so it could be included in some of the display gardens for the 2015 AIS convention?
