Sept 18, 2013: It's getting late in the year and I am going to have to stop shipping boxes out for this year. Thank you to all who accepted some of my excess plants. I hope that they will thrive with you and provide as much enjoyment as they did for me. To anybody that I did not get to, I intend to continue offering free boxes for postage in the Spring of 2014. If you requested one this year and did not get it (only a couple of people left), I will give you priority when I resume next year. It is challenging for me to harvest, clean, package and ship with everything going on in my life, but I do enjoy sharing.

I should have a box of semps that are extras left over from transplanting to other containers (several wooden planters have got to go). I'll ship this to someone for postage if there is interest. Will have Pacific Blazing Star, Blue Moon, possibly King George. I will try to throw in some starts of some other types as well. Tree mail me if you are interested. FCFS. I'll d-mail back my collection list and ask you to give me some suggestions for inclusion with the others listed above, but no promises other than indicated above. Note that some of the thinnings may include larger rosettes that could bloom, but will include plenty of rosettes/offsets. I also have some nice no-id types that I am letting go as well. Please indicate in your treemail if interested in those as well.

Update: My Pacific Blazing Star bloomed out, so only had a couple of offsets to share. I've put together two boxes to ship out on Thursday - they are packed but open so that they can dry out some more - its really humid here.

My landlord has decided that she doesn't like my collection in their current location and I must downsize my collection, so there are a few changes. That's not as bad as it sounds, because I had already been working a bit at downsizing anyway. I also have two properties to host the collection, neither of which has room for the whole thing, but at least I can move some to the second location. As a result, the bags in he boxes packed will mostly contain all the semps in an entire container of my collection. In some cases, this will be a colony of semps. In other cases, just a few. Keep in mind that I was routinely backing up my collection by splitting it among one or more pots, so even though I may be shipping all of a variety I have in a container, I may also have a backup pot.

Box 1 contains:

Red Rubin
Jeremiah
arach Red Cobweb
Hausmanii
Maigret
Reinhard
The Police
arach. Linde (one of the best arach's IMHO)
Abba
No ID (medium size, nice semp, entire colony)
No ID (probably Danji but not sure so Noid)
Pacific Blazing Star (just a few)

Box 2 contains:

Danji
Jubulee
No ID (originally labeled Sanford Hybrid Red form but could not confirm that one exists)
Abba
Jade Rose (only a few, does not do well for me)
Hausmanii
No ID sedum (might be a hardy Makinoi)
No ID (nice semp, entire colony)

Note both boxes are about the same size. But one has fewer plants per variety while box 2 has more per variety. (Hope I didn't mess up the lists.)

Lily/Lisa, you get to pick which box you want. Remaining box goes to gg5 unless he wants to pass and get a later box. If neither want these, I will offer to next two people on the list. Let me know via t-mail.

I'm open to adding more people to the list at the moment, as I expect to have more boxes of semps. T-mail me if interested and I'll be in touch. Shipping schedule needs to be irregular b/c I'm in "rescue-the-collection" mode. I'm asking you to just pay exact postage plus a buck or two for misc costs (packaging materials, gas to go to the po, etc) after the package arrives. Can pay in Forever stamps or ? No PayPal.

Sounds good Twit! I have many of what's in box 1, so Lisa if you want box 2 than I'll let next person in line get a box, and wait until you are ready to ship more...Lisa if you want box 1 than I'll take box 2.
Cheers and Twit thanks for doing this! Your semps that you are sending me are coming to a good home! I'm overgrowing my space and have several options regarding other spots, so working on that! :P

Thumb of 2013-07-20/Lilydaydreamer/51dc3f

And here is what I still have to plant! All the ones on the bags.
Many are rest of a colony that I will plant else where in case the vertical container does not do well.

Thank you, thank you! I tip my hat to you.

Thanks for the kind words. I hope to get the next group of boxes shipped on Thursday or Friday of this week. Greg, your bo is on its way too. The PO quoted a Saturday or Monday delivery time, so hope you already have them.

Hi Twit I was up in Canada for a long weekend but a neighbor opened the box and carefully put them on a tray! Thank you so much. I leave town tomorrow for 2 weeks so will deal with them upon returning! They all look great though!
Lisa, I would try keeping the vertical trays flat for a couple weeks and then lifting them (that's what was recommended to me, and it seems to work!) Such a great way to show off these semps! Hurray! Hurray!

Boxes 3 and 4 are expected to ship on Thursday or Friday. Plants are in bags and final drying to pack for shipping.

Just a note that I'm doing this slightly differently. Where I have enough plants in a pot, I am dividing into two or three bags, so that I can get more variety into a box and also make the boxes slightly more alike. I'm also trying to throw in a few bags of just a few plants from varieties that I am going to keep, just to add some varietal interest and make your collection a bit larger. I intend to keep doing this through the end of August, after which I'll stop as it would be more difficult to get the plants to acclimate before winter.

Here's a list of people in line to receive boxes. Hope I got the order right and didn't miss anybody.

Bev and Cinta, please watch for a post of the boxes' contents, should be Wednesday morning sometime. First in line gets first right of acceptance, then we move down the line. [eg Bev gets to accept or reject Box 3 or 4, after which Cinta can take box that is left or pass it down the line. If you pass it down the line, you preserve your position in line for the next group of boxes - hope that sounds fair to everybody]

BTW, Kent, are we allowed to ship semps to Hawaii? I thought that they were fairly restrictive. Also, shipping must be pretty high. I have some smaller, zonal priority boxes from the PO that are lightweight that you might want to consider if its legal to ship to there.

Boxes 3 and 4 have been finalized. I would like, if possible, to get in the mail on Friday. (Sorry I'm a bit later than expected with this notice) Bev and Cinta, can you work out between you who gets which one? Bev should get first choice, but if either of you don't want one of these, there will be more boxes coming.

Box 3 contains:

Pacific Blazing Star
Round Robin
Jovibarba hirta Mesek Mts A
Othello
Anne Marie
Atroviolaceum (Heimlich)
Jovibarba heuffelii 'Randolph' (division)
Blue boy
Speciosum
Jewel
Jovibarba sobolifera ssp hirtella
Sopa
arach. x pittonii
Zinfandel
Spring Beauty
Elvis
Peppermint Petty
Sassy Frass
Sedum acre

Box 4 contains

Ruby Hearts
Jovibarba heuffelii 'Randolph' (division)
Jovibarba hirta Mesek Mts A
Bag of mixed No ID's
Anne Marie
Emerald Empress
Othello
Round Robin
Speciosum
Atroviolaceum (Heimlich)
Blue Boy
dolomiticum x montanum
Elvis
another no id
Blue Moon
Crimsonette (gets large and is prolific)
Mate
Sedum acre
Lizanne
Silver Olympic

I also want to add that there is some difference in the box sizes among packages 1 thru 4 as I am scrounging for appropriate size boxes, so what goes in the box is partly determined by box size, number of plants and what will fit.
